Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Why I'm here in Williamsburg
I would think the main reason people drive all the way to Williamsburg is to visit the old down town Williamsburg. Yet when we arrived and asked the front desk receptionist, she seemed surprised and gave us very little information about the old town. She directed us to the brochures. Then she advised us not to drive down there, but instead to walk. She said it was a short distance, and although we're both in our late sixties, we took her advice. It was hot and humid that day , and sure seems to us to have been much longer than indicated. In her defense, she was very professional during our checkin. The hotel , the grounds, the room, and the breakfast were all fine.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Williamsburg during a trip to Busch Gardens and had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely polite and attentive (which is the norm at every IHG hotel I've visited so far). The room I book was clean and exactly what I asked for. The only real downside to this location is there's a newer Holiday Inn (or maybe remodeled) about 3 minutes (driving) away. The location I stayed in was not run down by any stretch of the imagination. But I would have booked at the newer location had I realized it was there. Either way, the experience was good so it's not really a big deal.
