Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My second home. I stay at this hotel on a regular basis. I prefer the HIE chain and stay at them quite a bit. For the most part I can always count on them being clean, comfortable, friendly and cost competitive. My only gripe would be the smoking in this hotel. There are times that I would swear some one was under my bed smoking away. On a positive note, I have stayed at other hotels in Williamston and I am positive that HIE is the best by far. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Unsecure I stayed in room 124 which is on the ground floor which is OK however the curtin would not close proerly so I had to use my shoes to prop against the window so no one could look in. The door to the room needs some repair; after you would open the door the deadbolt lock would remain engaged so you would have to manipulate the door handle to make the lock go in and then make sure the door would colse behind you as you left September 22, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Horse Show at the Bob Martin Ag Center I stayed at this particular hotel because of the proximity to the show grounds. I stayed in a suite. It was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk when I checked in was nice, but the staff throughout the stay, not so much....Customer service training may be warranted.....The breakfast was really not good....The attendant was friendly and kept things stocked and clean, but talk about "budget" breakfast. I know it's included for free, but really....and it would have been nice to swim or utilize the hot tub, but they were both down...this was not my first stay here and I will stay again. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing stay at this HIE We stopped here on the way to the OBX. We seek out HIE on our rather frequent family travels. While the vast majority of our stays are great, this one was disappointing. To begin, they had the reservation incorrect. We needed a King Suite becuase of space issues, which is what I made the reservation for. The only one left in the hotel was a smoking King Suite (versus the NS Double Double). We went with the double and it, of course, is sandwiched on the top floor among the smoking rooms. The hallway was putrid. You could not avoid the second hand smoke in the lobby either since they let everybopdy smoke directly outside it under the awning. Second, breakfast was horrible. Hardly any fresh fruit; loads pre packaged eggs and sausage, water down orange juice and half stale bread for toast. Last, we were traveling with a 10 month old and hoped to keep our pack and play tucked away neatly in the car among all the other packed items. We ended up pulling it becuase they charged $35! to rent one. We needed two extra towels and they told us to come down and get them. What kind of service is that? We will not come back. BTY if you do get stuck here, the restaurant close by, T-bones, is family owned and serves some great chicken, stuffed potatoes and does have a fresh salad bar with fruit. August 13, 2013

Pool and hot tub just right. Hot breakfast was tasty and ample. Friendly staff gave good "tourist" information. We will be back again. July 20, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad This hotel has a captive audience, in that it is directly across from the Senator Bob Martin Agriculture Center. We chose to stay here while attending a horse show. We stayed for 2 nights. Because of our schedule, we were unable to avail ourselves of breakfast on one morning, but on the second morning, the breakfast selections were decent. Unfortunately, the pancake maker was broken. The biggest concern I had was that, upon our return on the second day, it appeared that housekeeping had not cleaned our room. The bathroom trash had been emptied, and towels had been replaced, but the trash in the main room was still full and the beds hadn't been made. When I mentioned it at the front desk, the clerk apologized and said that the housekeeping staff must have been interrupted. Hmmm...... This was a nice hotel, but honestly, there are a few other nice hotels in the area where I can get my trash emptied and my bed made. Additionally, I was not greeted by name, nor was I welcomed as a Priority member. On the other hand, one evening, while searching the hotel vending machines for a bottle of water (they were all out), the kind young man at the desk apologized profusely, and provided me with 2 bottles of water which he got from his vehicle. I asked to switch rooms and was told there wasn't another room available. I will choose another hotel the next time I am in town. June 3, 2013

Accomodating social area on the first floor, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms, good parking, and a nearby restaurant that you will have to try! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable as I entered the property and maintained a professionalism throughout the stay. I would highly recommend this location for business or pleasure. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Average hotel with outrages pet fees! Stayed TWICE at this hotel the month of Aorill, 2013. Having never been to Williamston before, I was told by others (Horse Show folks)that this hotel would give us a discounted room rate and they were PET FRIENDLY. This hotel is MOST convenient to the show grounds, and before I made my reservations, I talked with the hotel personel about the rooms and the "discounted" rate & that they were pet friendly. Our first visit was OK, because I paid for suites for my husband & I AND my horse trainer! My trainer was there 3 nights and us 2 nights, and my room was charged the additional pet fee of $55 for BOTH nights! We ended up on the top floor so before we left, I asked the staff about a bigger room on the ground floor for our NEXT visit in 2 weeks. I was able to book my room early, and got a suite on the 1st floor beside the side exit door. The room rate was higher which I knew, but OVER a $100 in pet fees for EACH night was a bit much! ALSO, I paid for another room for my horse trainer! I have 4 dogs (all small and often stay in hotels) so I am use to paying pet fees. My dogs have stayed in 5 star hotels and have NEVER been charged this much in pet fees! I complained at check out & was told a manager would call me back. NO ONE called so I called back 4 days later, and asked to speak with the Manager. NEVER got to talk with manager! Will NEVER stay at this hotel AGAIN! Obviously, it does NOT pay to be honest and TRY to be a responsive Pet owner! I ALSO wrote a reviw on TripAdvisor! April 29, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service I had booked the the visor team a week before. One double for Fri & Sat and a king for Sat. The same as the team. When I arrived I was told I had no room Fri. And nothing was available. After much stress and looking I was told I was book for Sat. & Sun. The games were over Sun. Morning so why stay,everyone was going home. Then I was told OH, we have a room, surprise.Sat. Morning I paid for the king so I won't have to stand in line I was told I could just pick up the key. When I got there in the afternoon there were @20 people at the desk.rooms were messed up the man at the desk the them to switch the rooms as needed among themselves. Then some people did't even have rooms. People were mad. One family got so mad she went 20 miles away to a complete different hotel. Everyone was mad. Was told my room was not cleaned yet ant it was 5p.m.I asked about breakfast and told it ended at 9:30. So at 9:05 we came down to nothing and told they were not putting anything else out. Behind us were 12 more people. Only cereal and muffins to eat. Sun. Went down early and only bacon and nasty eggs. No fruit at all. I had 2 people in my group thar has gluten allergies, so nothing again they could eat. I have family the lives in Jamesville, and stayed there before but never again in williamston.without a lot of thought. April 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional staff, room sub-par Paris, the gentleman that helped us check in was exceptionally nice and welcoming. The room was spacious and well laid out, but had a musty smell. The water in the bathroom sink also had an odd musty smell. We were not in the room other than to sleep basically, so did not feel the need to move rooms...but hopefully this can be looked into and corrected as other than that we would highly recommend based on the staff alone. Because of the cold temps outside, couldn't run just the fan for comfort. Otherwise, a very nice two nt. stay. Appreciated the handicapped room as well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service in Super Location We have booked this hotel several times while showing horses at the Ag Center just across the road. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable and the heating and air conditioning in working order but mostly the staff and service have been outstanding. Desk Clerks are helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable and the staff puts out breakfast items early to accommodate guests who have to be at the show grounds early. Pet friendly as well. The free breakfast is very good, from hot foods to cold cereal,a large variety. Something to please anyone. Very clean dining area with extremely friendly staff . From check in to check out, we experienced awesome friendly employees. ( the front desk, maid service and dining hall.) Everyone was so nice. We will definitely stay here again.. Highly recommend.
