Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pool Closure One of the primary amenities that is important to my family is a working, heated swimming pool. I made the reservation online based largely on the fact that this property (as do all the HI Express properties) had a pool. However, when we arrived, we were informed that it was closed and is open seasonally. Why would you build an outdoor, uncovered pool knowing that it will be closed for several months throughout the year? This was very disappointing for me and my children. We were able to use a nearby pool at a different hotel, but it was hugely inconvenient. The evening staff person on duty was very pleasant, but seemed highly unprepared and untrained. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay We chose the Willows location as a stop on our way from Oregon to Arizona. The hotel is clean, quiet and convenient to restaurants and other services. We had our dog with us and there is plenty of room around the hotel perimeter for dog walks. I have stayed in a number of HIE's and the Willows property is certainly one of the nicest ! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay! My only criticism of this hotel is that there is no doggie area designated for the hotel. There is no lawn to let your dogs relieve themselves. You have to walk across the street at an apartment complex or down the street to the fast food restaurants or other hotels to get to grass or a non weedy area. If I wasn't traveling with a dog, it would have been a great stay. November 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant surprise I had work nearby and was looking for a nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. I was pleasantly surpassed by my experience. The hotel was very upscale for Holiday Inn - nice new modern furniture. It was impeccably clean - actually one of the first places I felt comfortable walking around w/o slippers in room. The free breakfast was perfect - pancake making machine and nice section of fruit, cereal and eggs. I would be happy to stay again! Thank you for a great experience in Willows. Didn't hurt that Starbucks is right across from it. November 3, 2013

As IHG members we also received a small bag of goodies to make our stay more pleasant. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Hotel My son and I flew into Willlows Airport out of the Bay Area, our plan to stay the night and get moving in the morning to other airports. I called to ask if a shuttle was available to pick us up, and the person who answered the phone said no. So, we walked over, it wasn't far. We were greeted by a wonderful person who offered us cold water, and said that if she wasn't the only person in the hotel that day, she would have driven over to pick us up herself. In the morning, the staff was great. We had a good breakfast, walked back to the aiport rested, and ready to take on a busy day of flying. For any traveler passing through the area? The continental breakfast was a bit less than expected with some sort of pancake maker contained in a device that provided no instructions on how to use and that I did not take time to figure out. No waffle iron that other hotels provide. Otherwise excellent accommodations at an affordable price. September 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshing respite Your staff knows the meaning of the word " hospitality". Jamie remembered us from a previous stay and we had a nice chat about our cats. Kristin and Yahaira were ready, willing and able to assist with all of or needs and requests. We thank you especially for being a pet friendly hotel. We will be returning this week for a family funeral and Kristin assured us of the availability of a room on the floor we requested facing the North side. It's a great relief to know that we don't have to worry about our accomodations while we are in Willows ( my home town years ago) . Thanks so much! The customer service is excellent, and our special request for a particular room was honored, which was greatly appreciated since we were traveling with two small children. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Overbooked, got wrong room Travelling with my wife and married daughter. Reservation in hand for private suite, got to motel, room already booked. Young lady very polite, but motel was full, so she had to put us in the handicapped room. Three adults, one sink, very poor couch bed, no privacy. After unpacking, using toilets, making couch beds, front desk called to say a room had opened. It was offered at discount, I thought it should be free. Nice front desk lady said she would talk to the manager and get our points returned, as room overbooking was their fault. The stay was a bad experience, room was clean but couch bed very uncomfortable, and one small sink in bath proved awkward. Will not recommend this location as others are close by on the Interstate. May 16, 2013

BUT, the room was noisy- bathroom light clicked all night, refrigerator hummed so loud we had to unplug, then I was awoken at 11:30 p.m. with a phone call from the night clerk telling me the credit card I charged a 16.99 movie on was declined. WHAT?! AT 11:30 in the middle of the night I didn't need to know that! I gladly took care of it at check out when I paid cash for my room. The next morning the desk clerk was appalled and profusely apologized. I didn't care about the free movie she offered but wanted the other details noted and the staff error rectified. We wont be stopping there again. Sorry HI- your other hotels have been great but this one was a bust- extremely disappointed! May 7, 2013

Check-in was fast and we were in our room quickly. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Will stay there again on another visit, less than an hour away from Chico. May 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed veteran I've enjoyed staying at this HI Express for a few years now during my frequent visits to Willows (6-7 visits per year). Unfortunately, when I checked in for my stay this week I was told that the hotel would no longer be offering the government rate to veterans, as they have for the last few years. I was quite disappointed to hear that, and will be looking at other hotel options in the area who do honor our veterans. April 5, 2013
