On our trip back on I-70, we tried to use our points and were told in two locations that there was no rooms available with points. The service rep indicated there were inns completely out of our route - it was like he had not idea of I-70 between Terre Haute and St Louis. We have a large number of points - are we going to be able to use them at some point? October 30, 2014

The hotel didn't have any hot water, and although they took some off my bill, I think an option of another HIE up the road a few miles should have been given to me. I didn't know that there were several HIE up the road a few miles. I would have been happy to go a few more miles to get hot water. I was up and down the elevator with my bags 5 times before I got in a room. The key worked, but the doors would not open. Then they sent me to another room that had the same problem. Then they sent me to an occupied room. I told them it looked like it was occupied and they said it was not. At this point I should have been given another room or an employee should have come with me to the room to be sure it was unoccupied. There were 2 employees at the front desk. I tried the door and Yes it was occupied. I finally was given another room and the key worked. I did not hear a single apology. October 25, 2014

The front desk staff informed us of this issue at check-in. we had travelled all day and were tired and chose to stay anyway. Cold shower the next morning. but not the fault of staff, they handled it well. October 22, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappoiting I am a platinum member of IHG hotels and i must say this is the worst experience we've had with an HI Express since the change over with new standards and logo. I don't know how these people got on the list. The check in clerk was unfriendly and a bit arrogant. Not only was I not greeted (or treated) as a Priority Member, I was not offered the choice of points or snack box. When I asked later I was told they were out of them and had been for a week. My TV did not work but was "fixed" by jiggling the cable--after the third call. The room was not HI Express standard. We had two pillows rather than the standard 2 soft and 2 hard. Nothing seemed like I was in an HI Express which I had come to depend on for consistency. Oh. we are both disabled and other guests smoking outside provided all the help we got. October 16, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 AWFUL! What a dump. Completely uncharacteristic of the "Holiday Inn Express" brand. If staying at a "Holiday Inn Express" is supposed to enhance my business performance . . . . I am doomed and will be unemployed soon. This property has not been updated for at least ten years. From entrance to my room, it was dirty, old and broken down. I may never stay at a Holiday Inn property again because of this stay. SHOCKED!!! I am completely shocked! September 21, 2014

Underneath is a great staff with professional guest courtesy's and amenity's that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Noise is not an issue even being right off I-64. Hair in the shower, clogged toilet, no hot water in the shower, inaccessible outlets, musty smell. We were transferred to a different room which was much better, but still minor issues existed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by you should drive past winchester holiday inn the breakfast was terrible, i travel a lot with holiday inn and this had to be the worst breakfast i have had. my wife and i both thought it was aweful. we even ate different food, so it wasn't just one item bad. also the bed was not comfortable at all. after a long travel day you want a nice bed to stay in. The front desk evening associate should not be "the face" of the hotel....rude, wearing a dirty t- shirt ,would/could not give me credit as a reward member to mention a few things. The lobby and elevator are defiantly worn and not clean. The serving containers at breakfast were full of stains like they have been used for a long time. Thank goodness the room was is better condition then the rest of the property. The past few years we have use Holiday Inn on different occasions and have had good experiences since they are rebranding but after this stay....we will be hesitant to use Holiday Inn. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by no front desk help WE arrived after midnight after a long day driving, there was no one at front desk, no sign no nothing, we called out and still nothing. Approximately 15 minutes later someone showed up, he then didnt even bother talking to me, just handed me my room key and carried on doing what he was doing. This is the first time i have ever been disappointed in an holiday inn express but we will never be staying at this hotel again. Let me clarify the staff at the breakfast we very friendly and we had no problem with them at all, just the check in experience. August 5, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by needs updated We had three rooms, one room's air condition didn't work, the door wouldn't work properly in the second room and when he moved rooms he had to go get a dolly and move his refrigerate and microwave because the hotel was lazy. The other room has no refrigerator. The carpet was nasty and needed replaced. The Wi-Fi was weak you can't use it. Overall it the worst holiday inn I've ever stayed in. August 3, 2014
