Very clean hotel; super friendly staff; convenient location; I left my laptop charger in my room and didn't realize it until I got home. I called the hotel, they found my charger and shipped it out to me the next day! Awesome customer service!

I have stayed here several times and have NEVER encountered a stay like this one. Stayed for 2 days and not once did my room card work - we had 2 room cards and had to keep going to the front desk to have them redone. And if you could find someone at the front desk when you got there, it was a miracle!! Our first morning, we were quite startled when the person from housekeeping entered our room at 8:30AM. We left the hotel approximately 9:00 AM and told her we were now leaving. Returned at 4:30 and of course the room key did not work, had a 20 minute wait at the front desk because no one was around. Got the room cards redone, and when we entered our room - it had not been cleaned. No new towels or toiletries, garbage had not been emptied, beds not made (and the bed cover was not clean to start with), nothing had been touched in 8 hours. We back down to the front desk and there were 2 persons behind the desk, both telling me everyone was gone for the day, sorry we can't help you. OMG are you kidding me. They told me they would put extra towels on the front desk counter for me to take up to my room - seriously, you can't take those up for me and empty the trash!! You know that phase HIX uses "we make it right or you don't pay" -- not so much as my card was charged on Monday for the 2nd night stay. Sorry, won't be back -- very disappointed. Gave this 2 stars because there was usually coffee in the lobby area (because you know I spent a lot of time there!!) instead of 1

I stay at Holiday Inn Express' whenever I have to travel. I like the breakfast that's included, and generally have good luck with them. The HIE in Winchester is definitely one of the nicest ones I've visited. It is well-kept all the way around. The landscaping outside always looks nice, the inside is very clean, and the room is very comfortable. In addition to the cleanliness of this HIE, it is also one of the less-expensive ones I've visited. My room here in Winchester has been on-average $20 less expensive than the others I've recently visited, yet it's a nicer place. The staff is also very friendly. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again any time I visit the Winchester area. This wasn't the first time I've visited the HIE in Winchester and it won't be the last.

The Winchester Holiday Inn is an excellent choice when staying in Northern Virginia. The hotel was well maintained and looked brand new. The rooms were clean, confortable and quiet. The breakfast choices were perfect and the hostess was standing by to ensure everything was perfect. I would stay here again next year when traveling on I-81.

This HI could hve been a dump But the STAFF made all the difference, Very helpful and nice at all times, The Hotel was not a dump it was very nice but I can't say enough about the Staff they were GREAT!!!

The location, staff and amenities are exactly what we need when in the area. Firendly, helpful staff; clean and comfortable rooms; breakfast served early on necessary days to accomodate our sport group all add up to a relaxing stay. Highly recommend this facility.

I have been a Priority Club member since 1999. Platinum for the last 4 years. This facility was good. Beds comfortable, etc. The staff is poorly led. Bottom line is that the leadership/manager(s) were not up to IHG standards. We stayed 4 nights with another couple who had never stayed at HIX before. We hoped to impress them. It was just the opposite. Examples:
-Housekeeping never took the extra 3 minutes to clean the coffee pot. Grounds and coffee were there everyday. The beds were made in a superficial manner--coverlet straightened over bunched up sheets. Sinks were not cleaned.
-I personally used the fitness room and pool everyday.The key card didn't work and front desk had to let me in. Large water bottle was empty. Towels were missing. When I asked for towels at front desk, I was given the shower mats for feet after a shower or bath. These were recurring the entire 4 days.
-I used the stairwell a lot. There was dirt on the steps. I called it to the attention of front desk on 1st day. On 4th day, it hadn't been cleaned.
-Donna was breakfast person. She worked very hard to accomodate. She deserves praise. Two of our four days were weekend days when she was overwhelmed with many guests. Despite that there were two (highly under employed# staff at the front desk, NO ONE helped her. There was a maintenance man loitering nearby, fully unoccupied. STILL NO HELP. A team effort, led by a good leader, would have loaned at least one other staff member to help Donna with breakfast during the rush.
Clearly, the manager #Misty) is not leading well. If she can't be retrained or motivated, SHE SHOULD BE REPLACED!
Most irritating of all was the absence of Cinnamon Rolls. Nothing is more connected to your good breakfasts than your signature rolls. Friday morning you ran out. When I inquired, I was told that someone forgot to order them and they would see about getting them soon. We left on Monday, and there were none. Yet another example of poor leadership.
I was disappointed, since I am used to superior service at HIX. My friends will probably continue their bad attitude toward HIX, regardless of our telling them how atypical this was.

The receptionists were all great during our stay in Winchester, VA. There seemed to be many activities going on during our stay, including VA Select's AAU basketball team staying there. IN the mist of if all, the service was great. The complimentary breakfast was good as well.

I have stayed at numerous Holiday Inn Express hotels for work travel and decided to try this one out for a recent weekend trip with my husband. This is the only IHG I've stayed in where I didn't get a priority bonus (snack, lotto ticket, bonus points, etc) at check in. Overall the hotel is about average but shows some age and not even close to as modern as some of the newer Holiday Inn Express hotels. The room was clean but had some water damage on the ceiling. The pool and hot tub were surprisingly nice and very relaxing if you can find a time when its not overrun with families and children. Staff was friendly and helpful enough although my interaction there was pretty minimal. My husband was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast choices including a pancake machine. Overall a good experience but next time I'd probably cough up the extra money for a nicer hotel.

This is the second time we visited this site. We were shocked at the quick and pleasant check in and check process during our first stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We do plan on stopping at this hotel in the future.

Very unhappy eexperience. First it is difficult location to find coming from interstate 81. When I did finally found it the room key would not open the door not once but three different times. I finally asked the
Front desk clerk to go up and open the door to the room. She was none too pleased and paid me back by leaving me a 4:00 am wake
up call. Very nasty and unprofessional.

My stay was complicated by having 3 separate reservations over a 5 day stay due to a mix of business and pleasure for the week and the front desk staff handled it beautifully. They were kind, courteous and extremely helpful even while dealing with multiple tour groups checking in and out.
The service within the restaurant and bar areas were exceptional as well. Always smiling and connecting regardless of how busy they were.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel and will stay there again myself

this room is a no smoking room. room 100. but when i got there , i found out that the person in the room before me ignored the no smoking ban in this room. the room and pillows reacked of smoke. iam not sure the staff could have prevented this.it was sombody who did not care about the non smoker who would rent this next. this made for a very uncomfortble night for me and my wife. sorry for the hotel staff who have to deal with thease tipe of people.

If I don't have a place to stay with a friend during race weekends at Summit Point this is where I always stay. Easy to get to, the staff is very accommodating, the rooms are clean and nice, and you even get a nice little breakfast. I love staying here....

This H.I. Express was a much better experience than comparably priced properties that I've book in my recent travels. Kudos to the facility staff. I might suggest that they replace the aged treadmill in the fitness center as it sounded as if it was on its last leg.

My husband and I stayed there in February because of a hospital visit. I asked if there was a room available on the next night if a hospital stay was necessary. The desk attendant said that yes there would be a room available, and to call from the hospital early and ask for the rate for hospital stays. The same attendant was on duty the next evening, and asked if I needed help carrying anything because I looked so tired.
The first bed was not too comfortable, but the second was fine.
I have already recommended the hotel and given the phone number to a friend.
Thanks for the location near the hospital and the special hospital rate!

Great Hotel. I travel weekly and only stay in either Holiday or Comfort hotels. On the road 50 weeks a year. This hotel is one of the best. good staff, extremly neat and clean. good breakfast.
If you are in the area and need a good hotel this is it.
