One of the nicest HI Express I've stayed in, very new, and built well. Excellent fitness room.
I wish they had saved a little money and paid for HD tv service in the rooms. It's 2013, HD tv should not be an option!

The ambiance of the hotel was very inviting upon arrival and check-in. Upon arrival at my room I was very impressed with the accommodation and the crisp, clean feel of the room. The bed was very comfortable - the mattress perfect for my tastes. Breakfast was appealing with many enticing options. I couldn't believe it was complimentary! Next time I will bring my swim suit and gym clothes so that I can try out the pool and fitness studio!

We had a GREAT time at this Hotel!!! Kids enjoyed the pool and staff was EXTREMELY Friendly and Helpful!!!!
Convenient parking and easy to find if you don't know the area.
Highly recommend for a family or just a couples getaway!!!

We were a little disappointed this time in this Holiday Inn Express.
Nice comfortable rooms but the housekeepers need to pay more attention to detail. when was the last time they used a vaccum around the edges of the room, doorway and hallways. Seems like they go down the middle and that is it.
Also the breaksfast area not kept as clean in the morning. Generally someone is always cleaning tables and keeping the counters and waste baskets emptied. This was not the case this time. there were several empty tables but no one around to wipe them off. The Little kitchen was a mess. Waste baskets over flowing. Need someone to pay more attention to keeping things clean during the breakfast time when lots of people coming through. Very disappointed. I have never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express where this has occured before.

I just had a couple of things.
1. I get up early and several times during my stay the breakfast did not open until after 6:30
2. My plane was delayed at Lacross and wanted to get a late check out at 12:00 which was only an hour later than normal and the lady at the desk said I could stay until 11:15 but that was it. I never had that problem before.
The rooms were very nice and they even up graded me to a nicer rooms

We stay at your property very frequently in Winona, Mn. as its a central location to meet with our family and grandchildren. We have always been satisfied with your hotel and why we keep coming back time after time. This past visit you appeared to be completely booked and understaffed as the breakfast staff person was very rude, did not work efficiently to service the eating area, and just had a plain bad attitude to many of the guests. The other guests were just as upset, not just us.
Plus your pool and hottub did not work. It took most of Saturday to get someone in to even look at the temperature controls. The hottub was colder than the pool.
These are just simple amenities to your hotel, I understand ~ but stays are planned around these amenities and both incidents was either poor staffing or poor attitude from the staff ~ that make for a pleasureable stay that we as customers are paying for.

The young ladies at the front desk, one of them being a trainee, were very friendly and helpful. They immediately made you glad that you were there. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the case the last time we stayed at this property. I am certain that the next time we are in Winona we will stay at Holiday Inn.

The room I had was not cleaned properly. It had build up of dust everywhere. The television, lamps, phone, etc had dust bunnies on them. This caused discomfort with my breathing and made for a tough night.
The desk lamp had a short in it, which caused annoying outtages of one of the light bulbs. Also, the sink drain was clogged and drained very slowly.
I cannot recommend this property until it is thoroughly cleaned and checked.
All it takes is attention to the details and a better, more thorough cleaning of the rooms and the property will get back to its luster.
It is in a great location on th eway down the Mississippi River.

This is my second visit to this particular Holiday Inn Express. Both times the breakfast options were lacking compared to the other Holiday Inn Express Hotels I've stayed at. The pancake machine was broken, there were no bananas or apples and there was no meat option (at most Holiday Inn Express hotels you will find bacon, sausage or something of the like).
On my first visit, I encountered an employee who was openly hostile when I asked her if there were any more bananas available, responding (in a very put-off tone, as though I'd been rude to her), "I'll get to it when I can". When I asked for the manager at the front desk I was told that she wasn't available but that they'd take my name and number and have her contact me but no one ever did. I understand that sometimes people under stress have a bad moment (the breakfast area was busy that morning and I have to assume I wasn't the first person to ask her for something), but for the manager to fail to contact me about an incident is pretty unimpressive.
All in all, far from terrible but really not great either.

I really like this Holiday Inn because it has extra features including a TV in the bathroom and a makeup mirror attached to the wall in the bathroom. The beds are super comfortable and makes you want to take it home with you.
Service is excellent from staff and rooms are clean.
Great feature for travelers is that it is located near a walking path.
I stay at many Holiday Inns across the state and hands down this one it the best.

I travel and stay in all name brand hotel properties in Minnesota while on business and find this Holiday Inn Express to be one of the nicest hotels/motels that I have had the pleasure to have stayed. The room I had was immaculately clean and fresh smelling and pleasant with the amenities and decor in the room. The comfort of the beds and the fantastic shower heads that Holiday Inn has the great reputation of having all made this a great experience. It MUST be stated that their breakfast is the finest of all others I have stayed at. Offering multiple hot choices (eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles and signature cinnamon rolls) are more than any other hotel chain offers. The price was very affordable and made this trip and stay there a great experience! I have nothing negative to say about this hotel

It was everything we were looking for in a hotel. Nightly rates are high in price, though. The gym is rather small and out-dated.

I stayed at the hotel while visiting my son at the university. The first night I was able to use my points for the stay. The second night, there were no reward nights available so I had to purchse the room. Breakfast was advertised to be until 10am. However, at 9:30, they said they would not put any more eggs or gravy out. the checkin process was very slow. I am not sure if it was new employees without experience or just the normal level of service. I would expect that when it is a fully booked weekend that they would have the most experienced staff working. I had to check out and re-checkin the second morning. And as a room wasnt availalbe, I had to leave my luggage and do the check-in process later in the afternoon. Again, the checkin process was very slow. Disappointed.
