The beds are comfortable, and the room is clean. Free internet and wireless. Decent breakfast; convenient location to get to downtown Boston.

From the moment we walked in to the waving goodbye it was comfortable, affordable and pleasant! The staff could not have been nicer and accommodating. We wanted to be in sight of the motorcycles and we were. The breakfasts were unending and delicious in a large well lit area that allowed everyone their own space. The restaurant attached to the hotel-Joe's Place-was great!!!
There were plenty of other restaurants, shopping, and other services in walking distance. Centrally located to many attractions-Sturbridge, Salem and more. Can't say enough about this location-great vacation!

My reservation was booked as a room with a king bed, which cost me more than a 2 double-bed room. Upon arrival and check-in I went to the room and found that it was a 2 double bed room. I went back to the front desk, showed them my reservation confirmation which I had on my phone, which showed I had a king room. There were two clerks at the desk, a male and a female. I don't remember their names. I went to the female clerk that had checked us in and she had absolutely no concern for my problem, simply telling me the hotel was sold out and there was nothing that she could do. When I explained that the King room I booked cost more than the two double beds that I ended up with, she still told me that there was nothing she could do. I asked for the rate that I could have paid for the room if I had booked a double in the first place and she offered to give me more rewards points, or $10.00 off of the room rate. (The double bed rate was about $34 cheaper). Meanwhile, the other front desk clerk heard my discussion and he looked on the computer, wrote something down on a piece of paper and handed it to the clerk I was dealing with. Rather annoyingly, she threw the paper down and said "I'm not doing that". I have no idea what he suggested but I believe it was to accommodate my original reservation in some way.
Other than this, it met the rather standard Holiday Inn Express standards, ie: comfortable room, good breakfast, etc.
I travel to Boston once a month and usually stay in the Manchester, NH area but wanted to be closer to Boston on this trip. I doubt I will go back to this HIE and will probably continue to stay in the Manchester, NH area in the future or choose another HIE location.
