I was very impressed with the Holiday Inn in Wytheville and will stay here again. I actually booked this hotel because of the reviews even though I had to drive out of my way. Staff is wonderful and furnishings in rooms and hotel are very modern, on trend and different for a typical Holiday Inn. Kudos to the chain for mixing it up a bit. Loved the china at breakfast and the big cups for coffee. Awesome place!!

Stayed on our drive back to Michigan from Florida. Two adults and four kids.... the suite was plenty big with the pull out couch... huge room... very clean and nicely decorated.... great stay!

We had a really nice room. My only complaint would be we were next to the elevator and ice machine so we had some noise from that. But overall our experience was good.

This is a very nice hotel, but rude housekeeping staff and suprise charges on my credit card ruined it for me. We stayed past our checkout time (approved by the front desk), which housekeeping seemed to be very annoyed by. They seemed more concerned about cleaning rooms early and leaving for the day, than being professional and customer service oriented. So, to my suprise it seems housekeeping wanted to cause trouble for me by reporting to management that we had a pet in the room. I informed the front desk that there was no pet in the room and nothing more was said about it. Three days after i check out, I find a $200 dollar charge on my credit card. I call the general manager who was rude and refuses to remove the charge that I say should not be there. So, basically I was charged a pet fee that I was not told about, for a pet that was not there. Anyway, to make a long story short.......according to any credit card company a hotel cannot impose charges for something they dont tell u about, and they certainly cannot impose charges that were not signed, authorized, or given permission to charge by the customer. So, by credit card dispute I dont have to pay a bogus fee imposed by unprofessional people. Case closed. You have been warned: stay here if you want, its a nice hotel. Just watch your credit card statement.

The Holiday Inn Express in Wytheville, VA was the most comfortable, clean, bright, best-smelling, friendliest HIExpress that my wife and I have ever experienced.
The staff was so friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was served with REAL PLATES.
That was nice.

This is the fourth time to stay at this HI Express. Must have had no one in the adjacent room or else they were very quite. However this time we could hear the people in the adjacent room. They were not talking loud. Just normal conversation. Maybe the walls of our room did not get insulated.
Like another reviewer we did not like the bathroom light and fan on a single switch. I have noticed this in other HI Express buildings. So tell your architect/electrical designer to make them separate.
Three cars in parking lot when we checked in and no upgrade offered. Will ask for one next time.

My wife and I stayed in mid Feb. The room was very clean and comfortable. The Gentleman at the front desk was very helpfull and polite. I useally do not stay at Holiday Inn's as I have not have great luck staying at their brands. We love to go on little road trips and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
we were VERY happy with this location. We will stay here anytime we are in the area!!

The lobby is beautiful. Very well decorated and welcoming. There is an indoor pool, too cold for me and hot tub which was also a couple degrees below par but enjoyable never-the -less. The great thing was the avail. of pool and fitness center till midnight. All H. I.'s should have this policy. Three things were odd but not deal breakers. Motorcycle size parking spaces near the front entrance. They should be marked as such and not take up a handicapped spot. The bath light and fan are on one switch, so whenever you turned the light on the fan was roaring. The heating unit was very confusing. Sometimes produced hot air,sometimes cold. All said it is in a good location for our travels and we will stay there again. Bob

Our stay at this location was a most enjoyable stay. We decided to pull off on our return trip home do to some rain heading toward us and we did not want to travel thru the mountains in bad weather. From the moment we were greeted to the time we checked out, we were treated very well. The room was huge and clean and the breakfast have a very good selection. After being in another chain hotel for the previous week, we all wished we had a room like this for that time. The front desk was very helpful letting us know what places delivered dinner and what were good places if we wanted to go out.
Keep up the good work, and we will be staying with you again when down that way.

I stayed there since it was close to a business meeting but as a Platinum Memeber I usually get a room upgrade and room didn't even have hair conditioner. When I spoke to the desk person she just replied "you have to ask for that". Very clean facilities but customer service was not what I have seen in all the other hotels.

It is a good place to stopover. The breakfast bar has the cinnamon rolls that are so good. Coffee a little weak, so if you enjoy coffee you will not get it here, but they have other drink selections for you. With the property only being about a yr old, it is starting to show some need for tlc. It is the best place to stop in this area.

Our family stopped at this Holiday Inn on our way home from a Christmas trip. Upon arrival the girl at the front desk could not have been more helpful! She even offered to bring the luggage trolly to us outside behind the hotel in the freezing snow so that we could haul our family and luggage inside all at once instead of making trips. When we arrived to our parking space behind the building there she was in the shivering cold with the trolly when she could have just left it at the door. Now that's service going above and beyond!
The room was very spacious and very clean. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the furnace worked perfectly to keep the room a consistent temperature. The only minor flaw was that the shower head did not work well and would spray a bit outward with the majority of the water trickling in a straight stream to the drain.
Breakfast offered a good variety but we were hoping for an apple or banana and there was no fruit at all. They did have pancakes which is something you don't typically see, and the scrambled eggs looked fresh and fluffy. Can't vouch for taste because we wound up at the nearby Cracker Barrel.
Overall it was a great stay and we look forward to returning to this property on our next trip through the area.

we stayed at this motel twice on our trip down and back to Florida over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The fact that is was basically a brand new motel is what attracted us to it. We were a little disappointed to find out that only handicap rooms were available on the first floor, where the pool was located.
The elevator was very cold for that time of year, was very glad I had a jacket on whenever I used it.
It was convienent to resturants and gas stations and the breakfast was great with actual plates and silverware, vs plastic at most establishments.
I don't know if I would stay here again, but it is in a convienent location for our travels. Easy access on and off of I 77.
I was not recoginized as a Priority Club member either time.

This property is located very close to I-81 with very easy access. The property appears to be new and is well kept. I was welcomed as a priority club member and given a very spacious room near the lobby area and I was able to pick up a very strong signal from the free wifi, which was exactly what I requested. The room was clean and modern, very quiet with all the now to be expected amenities. Breakfast was the biggest surprise when I learned that there were real glass plates, glass tumblers for juice and actual silverware instead of plastic flatware. The food was fresh, plentiful and the dining room was immaculate. This has to be the best HIE I have had the privilege of staying at. First class all the way. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be staying here again. Kudos to this management staff, wish I had a name to recognize.

The hotel is very clean as well as the rooms. It had just newly reopened I was told from another guest, so overall they did a great job on the hotel it's self.
I can not say as much for the staff they have chosen for this extremely nice hotel. Pleasant speaking voice an a smile go along way even if you are annoyed from guest asking you questions. Whatever you do, DO NOT get up prior to breakfast wanting coffee, I was told to go make it in my room - an that after 6:30 it would be available... I don't know how to break this to you people but not all of us are on the same sleep schedule, some of us have a long way to travel... 4 am is a normal time!!! You are not just offered the password word for the WIFI that usually is on the envelope of your room key, your asked "Are you even going to need the password"... I am hoping it was just opening jitters for some of you, an the hotel will be a great success, but I can tell you first hand from being in a Guest relations position myself, drop the attitude an take out your bad day on someone besides your guest, an acting as if it is a bother to you to give out a password that is a benefit from staying at a Holiday Inn!! You give the holiday inn brand a bad rep...

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times since July, going back and forth from Canada to "our otherplace" on Hilton Head Island. It's the newest in the area but a bit hard to find the first time, especially when you're tired after a super long drive. It's perfect in its location and design, everything works great. It is not quit as large as some other Holiday Inn properties but the the design of this hotel is really convenient and makes it easy to get in and out efficiently. Most of the parking is located at the back and the elevators are just steps from the back door along with the breakfast area. The ladies in the breakfast area are very welcoming and attentive.
As a Priority Club Members, the only negetivity would be the fact that you don't get the feeling that they respect Priority Club Members, unless of course you're are a Platinum Club Member. ie.The Priority Club Welcome seems an after thought.
On my way south towards Charlotte , I make sure I get some good sleep before tackling the steep decent on I77 south of Fort Chiswell, this Holiday Inn is situated perfectly for that.

We found out that this was a new Inn, so everyting was of course new, cleand and fresh. If it stays this way it will it will be a great place to stay again. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
