When we booked the hotel on line everything looks fine.
As we had 2 small babies we phoned the hotel on numerous occasion just to make sure there was 2 travelling cots in the room and this was promised as we never stayed in Holiday Inn express before.
Arrived at the hotel staff very welcome and said about our stay and said our room no which was on 1st floor, as we had 2 babies of age 18 months and 7 months we ask where the lift were and the staff said sorry No lift here, staff offered assistant with carry stuff up the room.
Went into the bedroom had double bed, put up bed and 1 travelling cot instead of 2!
As the weather was nice outside we decided to open the window but there was screw on the latch which meant we couldn't open its.
Staff came up to give us extra cot and open our window with screw driver!
Bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, had shower for the kids instead of a bath which we couldn't bath them.
Went out all day before our last day arrived back in the hotel went up to the room but we couldn't access its as the swipe card wouldn't open our door, went down stairs to ask the staff to reset it's, manage to get in the room and found nobody been there cleaning it's for us which mean no clean towels, no tea/coffee/milk supply, rubbish still in the bin, not happy at all.
Offered to move room but wasn't worth the hassle with 2 little ones and we were leaving the next day anyway.
Complain to the front desk staff when we were checking out and offered only £20.00 back!!!
They said to us very sorry and if we need a room next time with children that we have to make a request before we book, but we wont go back there again for sure.

Stayed here for the may bank holiday weekend. We had a slight problem finding the hotel but instead of using the hotels postcode in your sat nav try using the Toby Carvery restaurants post code . Its right next door to the hotel. Staff all brilliant. Rooms good all you need in them . Could be doing with free wifi . Breakfast was good stocked up all the time. Location not to far from the city centre but use the park and ride facility at the retail park only £2.60 per person return. Would definitely stay here again

Good location for visiting the City of York, located approximately 3 miles from the city and 1/2 mile from the "Park and Ride"...Take this as parking in York is very expensive and the road are very congested. The hotel has been recently refurbished, the room was very clean and that also went for the bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful, if a little slow, plus didn't recognise I was a "Priorty Club Member" until prompted. The is no free Wifi, which would be a big problem if I had been on a business trip. Breakfast was good, with a reasonable chose. There is not restaurant for an evening meal, but you can order "Take Out" and eat in the breakfast area or visit the "Toby Carvery" which is on the same site. All in all, I would recommend this Holiday Inn Express.

Good value for money, but the room was quite small for a family room, two adults and two children. It was fine for two nights but that was enough. However it was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was great too.

STAYED ONE NIGHT WITH MY WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN, HOTEL HAD RECENTLY BEEN DECORATED AND NEW CARPETS.ROOM WAS VERY SMART BEDS COMFORTABLE STAFF WERE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL,OVERALL VERY ENJOYABLE PLEASANT STAY AND WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND IT,WE WILL BE GOING BACK.

I must say that we have just stayed in this hotel march 2013, the staff were great and the rooms were lovely. Will be returning again.

The room was great with comfortable beds and a good selection of tea and coffee. Breakfast was superb but it was very crowded and we had to wait for a table to become free. The website stated that there was a bus into York every 15 minutes: this was a complete lie! There was a local taxi firm that was extremely efficient and it was £8 per journey into York.
