Staff were very courteous as you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Room was a bit too warm, but easy to adjust the heater. Great roll-in wet-floor shower room for wheelchair users. Breakfast area was a bit too cramped.
Only problem was the extremely high price for this type of accommodation.

An excellent hotel well located for york. Would recommend using the nearby park and ride to get into the city centre. Very good service.
One down side is the parking at the hotel - limited not enough for each room. More space outside the next door carvery if brave enough to leave your car there!

For a couple of days tourism in York, this hotel fitted the bill perfectly. With the Toby Carvery 50 yards away evening meals were no problem, the park and ride only a short trip away made getting into York easy with no parking problems.
The staff were very helpfull and abligeing.

I have already emailed comments to the York Express Holiday Inn because my experience of staying there for one night was exceptional. Fantastic friendly greeting from the receptionist, beautifully clean room, excellent breakfast with attentive staff and a warm goodbye by the cleaners. You should be so proud of the great Yorkshire welcome everyone gave us. A large group of us stayed, I come from Leeds many came from Scotland and Suffolk. I was so proud that York Holiday Inn showed what Yorkshire people are all about! The taxi drivers who were recommended by the receptionist and who took us into York and brought us back couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks for a great stay.

The hotel is fine but do NOT set your Satnav to the postcode given on the website which you will find is the middle of a field. The hotel is at YO32 9TG (not YO32 9TE). The staff at the hotel know this to be so but told me nothing could be done about the website or the printed stationery - both of which carry the wrong address. Common Holiday Inn Head Office, prove them wrong!

We had a very good stay and found everything to our satisfaction.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Would like to get some of the dark wallcovering for my own home if you would like to let us have stockist.
It would look great in my alcove.
This is our third visit to this hotel and shall definitely come again

never stayed at aholiday inn before but on arrival the welcome was as if we were family the staff were very proffessional and made us most welcome the room was excellant and very clean unlike some of their rivals,the breakfast was plentiful the whole expreience was excellant

As a family we hadn't stayed at the Holiday Inn Express so we had no idea what to expect. It was excellent value.
It's close to a Park and Ride into the city, in a quiet area and all in all with great staff we'd give it 100%. Clean rooms, small but functional.
Book early as this hotel was full during school holidays and we took second last room!

I was expecting John Cleese and Prunella Scales to appear. When we arrived my partner wanted to use the toilet in the reception area and was advised to use her mobile phone to find her way around inside the toilet. The bulb needed changing.
In the middle of the night a man entered our room, his card had been programmed with our room number, it would appear that the receptionist (maybe Manuell) made a stupid mistake.
When I visited reception to ask for an elastoplast to stop my thumb bleeding I was told "I am sorry I cannot give you one due to health and safety reasons, you might be allergic to the plaster" I was shocked at the stupidity!! The receptionist eventually gave me an elastoplast to stop the bleeding. Will she now lose her job for contravening health and safety regulations?
In the middle of the night I had to ask for some better pillows and was informed that the new ones were on order. The management need to manage!!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. The staff were very friendly and polite. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. An added bonus was the complimentary breakfast that offered plenty of choice both hot and cold. I would highly reccomend this hotel.

On a bitterly cold night in January we received the warmest of Yorkshire welcomes from the cheerful, professional staff. Our room was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable. The well designed bathroom was clean. Breakfast was plentiful and set us up to face the icey journey home.

we stayed at this hotel just after new year . The family room consisted of a double bed and a comfortable sofa bed for the children . All the staff were friendly and the room was nice and quiet. The hotel is quite a distance out of york but there is a carvery style pub next door and quick access onto the outer ring road . Great value for money.

The hotel has been undergoing refurbishment and the public area and our first floor bedroom was immaculate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meal at the adjacent restaurant was good value. Unfortunately there was congestion in the breakfast room on the first morning of our stay and we had to eat in our room - maybe the breakfast hours could have been extended for the entire Xmas holiday period. Otherwise we were very satisfied with our stay and would come again.

Malton Holiday Inn express was going through a planned room refurbishment and we had been allocated one of the refurbished rooms, the room was clean and bright and the new decor was a vast improvement on the previous accommodation we had stayed in at Malton.

We have stayed here Summer and Winter for several years. The standard remains consistently good and the accommodation is comfortable, clean and good value. Parking at the hotel is plentiful and access to York City, four miles away, is easy. There is a shopping centre and 'park and ride' service to York City Centre within two miles.The Hopgrove pub' next to the Holiday Inn offers an excellent value carvery and restaurant. On our recent visit York was experiencing it's coldest weather for years, with the temperature consistently well below freezing. The Holiday Inn Express was comfy warm and our room was comfy snug.
We will be back.

A lovely weekend break in the York Holiday Inn. The staff were very friendly (especially Chris) and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were newly refurbished to a high standard. A good location as the park and ride is only 2 minutes in the car. Adults cost £2.50 return and kids go free.

Staff could n't do enough for us, location is our in the sticks BUT taxis are a flat £9 so that worked well. The fact you can get the breakfast and take it back to your room is a bonus, and good fare ! Limited beers on draught, but apart from that-oh and theres a pub next door for evening meals ! Price is a bit high, but no worse than the rest of York and rooms are good with good maintenance

This was the second time we had stayed here (family visit). The staff are brilliant - knowledgeable and very helpful. Stuart on reception is worthy of a mention but all the staff are helpful - and very smiley! Booked again for December and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Good stay, having stayed in inter conti hotels all over Europe this hotel is as good as any in the portfolio in the price range. The staff were excellent and the property was Well maintained and clean. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was very good.

My wife and myself have stayed at this hotel two or three times each year since it opened as a Holiday Inn Express. We have been very happy with the level of comfort and service we have received. We always request the same room and so far, it has always been provided. The pub' next to the hotel serves an excellent carvery which we enjoy. Breakfast is generous and the whole package is extremely good value. The hotel is easily accessed from the York ring road and there is always ample easy parking. York City Centre is only a few minutes drive away, or there is a park and ride facility near to the hotel. The reception staff are unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. We expect to continue using this hotel for several more years.

Room comfortable, but felt could do with an upgrade/ fresh up for the price of the room, there are a number of H E where the price is less than I paid for here, I probably won’t return as I don’t think I should be paying for wi-fi if the Toby Carvery can offer free wifi why can’t H E, I need privacy to do my work so I can’t take the benefit of free wifi in the very busy Toby.

We were met by friendly helpful staff making us feel very welcome. All was great apart from noisy neighbours on our corridor who talked very loudly for a long time into the early hours.standard HIE breakfast which is never brilliant regardless of which HIE you stay at.

Staff really helpful. Plenty of parking. Next to the Toby Carvery and only one mile from the York Park and Ride at Monks Bar.
Breakfast is hot and plentiful. This is excellent value for money.
