Unfortunately I had a business trip to Austin during the Formula 1 week. Called several hotels and this was the only one with available rooms.
My first impression was OK. It is still under construction but the interior of the hotel is mostly done.
My problems started in the first morning. The shower water pressure is horrible and at some times it is close to just dripping.
After a miserable shower, I headed to the breakfast bar. The selection is very limited. Seems that they don't have a kitchen and everything is prepared somewhere else and just reheated in the microwave. There were no fruits available, but I remember seem a few bananas once or twice during the 2 weeks I was there. But the rock bottom for me was when I went to grab a drink and all the milk boxes in the fridge were expired. I called the lady at front desk and she removed them all.
After 10 days and 4 requests they finally changed my room from 4th to 2nd floor and the shower water pressure was a little better but still far from decent. They did give me a $10 starbucks gift card for all the trouble. :-)
Tried to use their laundry over the weekend and it was out of service. They fixed it on Monday, but the dryer requires 2 cycles to dry a load.
The only upside of this hotel is the location. I could walk to several restaurants/groceries store and didn't need my car for anything. There is also a Einstein Bros Bagel next door that I used daily instead of their microwave breakfast.
PS: And last but not least, their toilet paper is the worst quality available. I went to the HEB across the street and bought me some decent TP. LOL
