Nice complimentary breakfast, went there at 9:00 am, one hour before closing, still plenty of food, and very fresh.
Con: room is a little humid, maybe because of the area.

I booked a king suite. Checked in at the hotel and when I got into my room it was hot and muggy in the room. The A/C was set on 68 so I turned it down to 60 and me and the wife left for supper.
We came back about 4 hours later and it was still hot and muggy in the room. Went to the front desk to tell them about the problem and the girl at the counter said that the computer showed that there was something wrong with the A/C unit in the room and they were supposed to be having someone look at it the next day. She also said that they probably put us in the room at check in because even though it showed the A/C was broken because they did not have any other King Bed Suites available.
Since there were not any other King Bed Suites available she had to put us in a regular King handicap room. So we packed up all our stuff moved rooms and for our stay we had to stay in a handicap king room even though we had booked a King Bed Suite.
The hotel did have really good breakfast.

Overall our experience was very good, but some minor moldy smells in our room kept it from getting a higher rating. The staff was helpful and always courteous, but I think the fact that the hotel was having exterior construction could have caused the smell since the room was cleaned well.

The service was friendly, but the room was sprayed so much to cover up what I can only guess would be smoke. Two days later our clothes in suitcase still were poisoned with that overwhelming smell. Wont stay again.

The hotel has the standard Holiday Inn Express features, but they are very old. Overall, the hotel feels dirty. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel badly needs some money put into it for upgrades/updates. The breakfast: eggs tasted like they were the powdered variety and the food was left sitting out for an excessive period of time. By that, I mean it was normally dried up and gross. The juice machine was broken for almost the entire week long stay. A few days a note on the machine said juice was available, but it was warm. So they provided a bowl of mostly melted ice.

This is our new go-to hotel when we visit New Orleans. Centrally located for all of our travels in the area, easy access to freeways. The property was extremely clean and well maintained. The rooms were clean, nicely appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff were cheerful and very helpful with all of our questions and concerns. Everyone we encountered from the staff was great, housekeeping, kitchen staff as well as maintenance. The breakfast buffet was definitely a big plus.... excellent selection of hot food, plenty of room in the dining area to relax and enjoy our meal, and the staff does a great job keeping the breakfast bar stocked, even right up to the end of serving hours. The pool was very nice and the area around it was clean and well maintained. The fitness center had free weights, which most hotels do not offer. Overall, an excellent experience with Holiday Inn Express Harvey-Marrero.

The staff was nice and friendly. Make sure to ask what they have to offer as each hotel is different and they will not volunteer information as I found out on this trip they offer popcorn and pancakes from certain hours at night.
