The only thing going for this hotel is the location and the very helpful staff.
Our visit was in January when the weather was unexpectedly cold (4*C) and the rooms have no heating. We were given a small fan heater which was not really a solution. When you leave the room the power goes off, on returning to the room it took about an hour to get the room warm again.
The windows in the room are single glazed, so lots of street noise, even on the 19th floor! The other issue with the windows was huge amount of condensation. A warning sign has been fitted warning not to place anything on the window sill. The condensation was so bad the water ran down onto the carpet leading to the room having a bad smell of damp.
Breakfast is very strange. You receive a voucher for each day of your stay. It is provided by a restaraunt on the 6th floor which is a steak restaraunt at night. It is NOT part of the hotel and the voucher is worth 450 HKD. On the table is a printed sheet telling you what your voucher gets you. Two western choices. A or B, Choice A is a cup of coffee and glass of orange, scrambled eggs, a muffin, and two veal sausages. Choice B is the same coffee and orange but with scrambled eggs and a cold meat sandwich which is a slice of something stuck between two slices of plain white bread. The menu is made up on trays with no deviation and the selection thrown down in front of you. I went once during my stay then did not bother for the remainder of the week. Not nice and not a usual breakfast, I expected a Buffett type as usual at holiday inn hotels.

I noted keenly on the efficiency and the staffs promptness. They endeavoured and acted upon as soon as possible. Yes, even when the hotel was full house.
My foldable bed was prepared and lined thinly, that even the bars and supports could be felt by just running my hands over the thin material bed sheet. I email the Sr Sales Manager Mr R and was pleasantly surprised he had the matters sorted with the house keeping in a very effective and promptly fashion.
As mentioned the turn around time and effective delivery time was imperative for any guest. But poor and boring breakfast as compared to other hotels in all my travels - even w/in the same group of hotels - notwithstanding HKG is the place for good food.
