We specifically stayed at Holiday Inn in Odessa, TX because we've always had a good experience in the past at other locations. We booked a King suite (which we've done before at other locations) for the 'privacy' factor between the living area and the bedroom. We also specifically asked the rep if there was a door separating the two rooms. Upon our arrival we were surprised to find there was no door and no privacy(our boys always sleep on the pull out and mom and dad get their private room...not this time) I went down stairs to speak with the girl at the front desk, hoping we were given that room by mistake. She stated there aren't any rooms with a door separating the two rooms. I explained what we expected when we booked the room, and she blankly stared at me and responded with 'yes ma'am'. I'm aware she can't miracle a door, but she offered nothing to make us comfortable about the situation, and the fact that we paid MORE for a room we didn't get. February 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Regrettably disappointing I've stayed at this HIE property multiple times in the last three years. Historically, it's been a favorite of mine with respect to location and quality. It's unfortunate that I must report that the property is already showing it's age and management appears to have lost their way. Upon arrival I was greeted by an under-trained new hire that was clearly not on the top of her game. As a Spire Elite customer, I was not anticipating a handicap room although I did arrive around 10:30 PM. There were still a number of rooms available and the other customers were not as frequent or committed to IHG as I as their card folder was evident to me with their number of points and member status. Fortunately, the night staff lady intervened although she was not even punched in on the clock yet. I wish I could remember her name as she proved helpful. I know she's lost weight and changed her hair color and style since I last saw her during my last stay, but she was good! In fact, she fixed the light bulb that was out. She secured a desk chair for the room as there was not one upon entering the room. She also fixed the television remote. When I mentioned aging, the mattresses are starting to sag. That's not good! The shower door failed to close tightly leaking water on the floor and the shower head failed to hold in place as the thumb screw to tighten it was thread bare. Breakfast lacked milk, hard-boiled eggs, and only had two yogurts left. The very gracious breakfast lady noted that she was very sorry as the foodservice vendor had continued to short their order. I think that's a nice way for saying management dropped the ball or was attempting to shorten inventory. Again, not good. One last thing staffing is slim despite paying robust rates in a very depressed oil patch market. I came and went six times through the front doors during normal business hours and nobody would have known I was there. The front desk was empty. That leads me to believe my security could be in jeopardy. Summarily, it saddens me to note that this HIE property has slipped significantly since my last review, which was glowing several months ago. I'm sure they can make a comeback, but my next stay will be at other IHG properties in the area that have their pricing in line for the given product provided. January 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Odessa stay! Took a while to find as off I-20 a few miles, but worth the drive. Close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Newer location with great staff and great rooms. Breakfast with quite a bit of variety. Pretty much the same thing as at the other Holiday Inn Express locations. But it's great to have this breakfast option to not only save a few bucks, but also some time in the morning. Spotless rooms. January 14, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pricing This hotel is over priced. Just because Odessa is an oil town does not give a hotel the right to over charge people who need to stay at hotels. Especially loyal IHG reqards customers. Consider customer loyalty. I can see that there are several new hotels under construction in the imediate area. Overcharging guests is one sure way to loose customers the next time around, especially with the drop in oil prices and the resulting loss of business overall in the community. January 3, 2016
