the stay was enjoyable. the staff was excellent. overtime we went through the hotel they remember our names. My son and i thought the pool was very nice. one morning we had missed breakfast . The staff member was cleaning up . She saw my son was disappointed. She went back and brought my son some fruit milk and cereal. I told her thank you. He was beaming. There is 2 very nice restaurants in the parking lot. But he just wanted to eat in the hotel, cause he has never done that.Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I will betake.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this location. 1st, we were given a set of keys that would not unlock our room door. This not only happened once but twice. My wife and kids waited with some of their luggage in the hall way while I went back and forth to the check in desk to get keys that actually opened our door. Then my wife and I left our 11 and 16 yr. old in the room while we went down to our vehicle to grab the rest of our luggage. When we returned to the room my 11 year old was peeling a banana and my 16 year old was about to open a yogurt they found in the refrigerator. I quickly asked where they had gotten the food and they both responded it was in the refrigerator. "usually there is only water". I immediately asked them to put the food in the bag, I cleaned out the refrigerator and took the food down to the front lobby. The desk attendant, smirked and giggled when I explained what had happened. I had to asked him if he thought it was funny. Realizing that I was upset, he said no and apologized. Later that evening, my wife wanted to iron our clothes for the next morning, but there was no ironing board in the room. She called the front desk and asked for an ironing board. We waited two hours, she fell asleep waiting and no ironing board ever came. The next morning, she woke up early and called down to the service desk and asked for an ironing board, she was told they would bring one right up. The kids and I went down for breakfast and when we returned, an hour and a half later, still no ironing board. She called again for an ironing board. It took them 47 min. to finally bring us the ironing board. Delaying our trip to town about an hour. Needless to say, it was a sour start to our Fiesta Celebration in Down Town San Antonio.

Overall, stay was ok. Place was easy to find, easy to access, and lots of food places up and down both sides of interstate. There's even an HEB grocery store down the road. We didn't utilize the breakfast so can't comment on that. The room was good sized and clean. Bed was comfortable. First time I've been in a room with no carpeting. Overall the place was nice, clean, open and staff was always helpful and friendly. However, one of the noisiest places I've ever stayed. It is an open ceiling concept which allowed noise to travel up to the floors (we were on the second floor). Since it was close to the interstate, we heard the traffic and the inner building noise unless the air conditioner was kicked on. I even heard someone walking by in the hallway wearing flip flops. I can't say for sure whether I would stay at this particular location again in the future but have had pretty good luck with Holiday Inn Express overall and would probably seek out another location before booking this one just because of the noise factor. Also FYI if you mix points w/ regular booking, you have to re-check in or your room key won't work.
