This was our first stay at HIE San Antonio Medical Ctr North and it will not be our last. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.

We stayed here after going to Six Flags. It was a welcome change from the hotel we stayed at the night before in Houston. We were really glad to see a comfortable bed after having a long day in the sun playing. Check-in was smooth. One thing I wished is that they had recognized me for being an IHG rewards member.
The next morning, breakfast was really nice and kept up. They were not strict about taking breakfast down right at the time it was supposed to close. In fact, they kept restocking because there were several people there that were getting breakfast. I appreciated that because we have felt rushed at other hotels in the past.
Check-out was smooth as well. Everyone was really friendly. The hotel was clean and felt safe. We didn't use the pool but it looked like our boys would have enjoyed it as well with the colorful lights at night. Thanks for a good stay.

I stayed at this hotel for a family gathering - I would never have stayed at this hotel by choice. Although I had heard the hotel was recently renovated I found the renovations both decent (the bathroom, the beds) and shoddy/cheap (the kitchen area, the carpet, the walls - some of the markings from the contractors were still visible.). There was no airport shuttle available, which for a hotel that close to the airport was a real disappointment. My main criticism though is the breakfast. The eggs were truly terrible - rubbery with a hard plastic layer from sitting out too long. I also never like eating off styrofoam plates with cheap plastic utensils - extremely wasteful and very flimsy. There were also two TVs with two different channels on, which was a distraction and made conversation difficult. The only plus was that the coffee and tea were available 24 hours a day. I was also disappointed that I was told when I checked in that I my room was close to family (we had booked a block of twenty rooms), but no one else was on the ground floor.or anywhere near me. They also had my reservation wrong, despite numerous e-mails. Luckily the mistake was caught or I may not have had a room on my last night. I am sure my criticisms would not be a problem for others, but I would prefer a hotel with quiet breakfast room, a good fresh breakfast with real plates, silverware and coffee mugs, and a proper restaurant/cafe where I could get a bite to eat a other times of the day. The special group rate they offered does not seem like a good deal for a room next to a large interstate, and in my mind was not a budget rate that justified skimping on the details.
