When my wife's flight was delayed, our reservation was cancelled despite the fact that I had called 3 times to update IHG on my wife's status. All three times I was told that there would be no problem.
Upon arrival , my wife discovers that our reservation has been cancelled and would not be honored. Fortunately, she brought along the confirmation email and was able to get the hotel to honor the reservation. Unfortunately this was not until after she had been treated rudely by the front desk staff.
At the same time, I called the IHG call center and was told that there was no record of my call and that there was nothing that could be done for me.
If this is how IHG Platinum members get treated then I won't be staying at a Holiday Inn property in the future nor will I recommend it to anyone else.

Close to airport with an easy and fast shuttle service.

Room was below average. VIP room was booked for 4 people yet towels etc were for 3. That's considering that there was an extra person fee taken. "Welcome chips" were awkward - there was the same type of snack in the room, but no more. Breakfast with no choices. An overall experience - cheap hotel vs what I'd have expected from Holiday Inn Express.
