Our reservation was for two nights. The second day, as we returned from a medical appointment where my husband had general anesthesia and biopsies for suspected cancer, the desk clerk said to him, "Are you having a good day so far today?" PLEASE! What answer did she want??? How about just a smile and "Hello" from her???
I made another trip to the car to bring in computer equipment --
this is 3 p.m. -- and gave the desk clerk my room number and told her we would do without maid service that day as the room had not yet been cleaned, that we did not want to be disturbed. Lo and behold, the phone rang and the desk clerk asked if we were sure we didn't want maid service that day.
Sorry, but these people need training in LISTENING!!!!!
Two days later I made a long distance call and asked for the manager because he had told me to call him personally to make reservations, that he understood our medical situation of perhaps needing to cancel reservations by 6 p.m. the night of arrival. That same desk clerk told me the manager was "busy," asked my name and phone number, and said she would "give it to him."
I have yet to have my call returned.
We are seniors, quiet guests, and leave motel rooms in very good condition, and we need to be treated with a little professionalism
by hotel staff. We DO NOT feel we've received it from this place!!!

Staff was very accommodating when we discovered an issue with the water fixture in the bathroom. Immediately moved us to another room. Entire hotel very clean and inviting.

The hotel increased the rate (by $100 a night) without notifying us. I asked to speak to the manager twice and never heard from him. The toilet in the bathroom was FILTHY...with a black ring inside the bowl. There were dead bugs on the floor of our room and the shower head didn't spray completely. The breakfast bar had bugs crawling and flying around in the bagel/bread box. I will never stay here again when I'm visiting Texas Tech or Lubbock!!
