Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice location - Beautiful grounds We recently stayed 2 nights at the Bar Harbor Regency / Holiday Inn. When we first arrived, we were promptly greeted and welcomed by the doorman who brought all of our things to our room, which you could tell had recently been updated. The front desk staff was pleasant and knowledgable. We enjoyed some time by the pool and had some great cocktails at the Tiki Bar (although a little pricey, everything was delicious). We had dinner that night at Stewman's Lobster Pound on site, and the lobster roll was very generous compared to other places. The grounds at the hotel are meticulously maintained. Breakfast in La Bella Vita was nice. The waitstaff were very friendly. The resort is centrally located between downtown Bar Harbor and the Hull's Cove entrance to Acadia National Park. Easy to get to with public transportation, your own vehicle, or on a bicycle if you so choose. June 28, 2015

Beautiful gardens with heated pool and hot-tub The lobby is classy and the food in the restaurant is really good. you cannot skip their breakfast buffet! This is one of the few hotel that really has comfortable beds, mostly I wake up with sore hips and painful shoulders, not here! We are planning to go back to this area more often and our stay will definitely be at this hotel. June 28, 2015

The staff genuinely made us feel special, from the front desk to restaurant and bar staff to housekeeping. Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Bar Harbor. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and wonderful staff First of all, we made a mistake in our reservation and didn't realize until the night that we were packing and double checking our confirmation details for our trip the following day. My husband immediately called and the situation was rectified with ease. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly , courteous and warm staff from the doorman to the receptionists. We were lucky to get an upgrade on the room based from our online booking description and just paid the additional charge for an ocean view. I think it's worth it since you can see the spectacular view from the balcony, especially during sunrise and sunset. The hotel has been newly renovated so the furniture were new and contemporary in style. The resort's close proximity to Bar Harbor downtown is a plus. Great stay overall! June 24, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expectations weren't met We were so excited so spend our honeymoon at you resort. Sadly we were let down for several reasons during our stay. Such a shame since the location is absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly but not always willing to help or even find answers for us over concerns. June 24, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This property could be so much better From the moment we arrived, and the doorman just stood there instead of opening the passenger door, to the musty smell in the corridor, I had this disappointed feeling. We paid good money for a room and were then hit up for more to get a room with a water view. When booking online, the description should say "for this price you get a dark room on the road side of the hotel, so expect to pay more". The front desk personnel were not particularly friendly and certainly didn't have a sense of humour. On the positive side the bar staff out at the pool were very friendly and we enjoyed their good service and positive attitude. The pool area was lovely and the gardener had done a super job on the flower beds in the area. We did eat breakfast on our last morning there and enjoyed the fresh food and variety. A renovation to this property is needed and better management and staff training would make a big difference. June 23, 2015

This hotel is closed yearly from October through mid May. Resort and amenities may be closed for season. Check with the hotel for more information.

The whole bar harbor property is seasonal. You should call first. They close down for a few months in the late fall/winter.
