Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Partial View is hit or miss, we got a miss
The view is nice, but the upgrade for the partial view was not worth the room we got which overlooked the laundry and kitchen exhaust fans. These fans were loud, and I asked to talk to the manager and they gave me the run around. You can hear every conversation in the hallway, which is disappointing.
They don't seem to do the little things well that can make a difference. Some of the room amenities are outdated; this property needs to be updated.

We stay at different hotels in Bar Harbor every Memorial Day and during the Fall Season. As usual this hotel was the same as the others, only a select few amenities were open as it was "the first weekend we are open for the season". I don't really care if this is the first weekend or not - rooms are not cheap and I should get what I paid for. Or it should be stated online that not all the amenities are open yet. All the staff were new and several told me that it was their very first day. Seriously. The front desk was seriously not prepared for throng of check ins and not much better at check out. Much of the hotel had been renovated and the halls stunk of carpet glue to the point it was nauseating. Then those who were also guests, had small ones throwing tantrums in the halls late in the evening, slamming doors and running. The door to our room has about 1/4 inch gap and so we had LOTS of light in our room all night long. Dinner was well overcooked, shrimp like rubber. The breakfast was impossible to get to - throngs of people waiting to be seated with no seats available - we left - glad to be out of there. Next time we are staying in Northeast or Southeast Harbor. We have been going to Bar Harbor as a couple twice a year for the last 6 years.
