We enjoyed our family vacation @ Holiday Inn Resort Daytona. Our children and grandchildren are still talking about how much fun they had and how they would love to go back. Thank you for having such an amazing hotel for the 11 of us to enjoy. The size of beach front was great for the grand children. They will never forget the ocean. Our King Suite was enjoyed by all of our families. Even though they had their own rooms the suite was the meeting area for the family which makes an enjoyable personal touch. I would recommend this Holiday Inn Resort to my friends and family.
Again thank you.

This was a great hotel for families and couples, the rooms have a great space and plenty of amenities within the room. The only issue i had was the room was not ready by 2 pm, that's a bit pushing it, especially for a loyalty member. The parking was a bit of a problem but expected with group in house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jeanniep34 Great hotel!
I have stayed in several hotels on Daytona Beach, and now will come to the Oceanfront Holiday Inn as our main hotel there. The resort fee is much lower than other hotels, the service is terrific, and the rooms are very nice. Its a nice and quiet area (don't stay there if you want a super exciting night life), which is just what I want.

Our stay was awesome - despite the rain. Our room was comfortable enough we didn't mind hanging out during the rain - my daughter even made a new friend - a seagull who loves Pringles.
We stayed in one of the kid friendly rooms, which has bunk beds, and my daughter loved it. It was like she had her own space to hang out, watch tv, and just be herself.
Everything was very accessible and the front desk staff was very helpful. If we needed directions or suggestions of places to go - they had no problem helping us out. It was nice to go to a hotel and be met with a smile time you walk in the door.
We actually would have stayed longer, but work was calling my name.

Saw a description (I think at the hotel) that mentioned our "new" resort. Guessing the hotel was built in the 60's, but they have somewhat updated the rooms. The description of the hotel (a stretch to call it a resort IMO) is definitely fluffed up. What it does have going for it is the beach location and the fact that each room appears to have an oceanfront view with balcony. Asked for a king bed at check in and was told they have no kings because it's a family destination, only 2 bedded rooms. I now see kings are listed on the website, but maybe only for more expensive suites. Told I was assigned to the executive floor--not sure what made it executive--the room seemed very plain. Walked into the room and it seemed stuffy with an odd smell, then I realized it was some kind of air freshener which I really dislike.
Given a free drink for my Platinum status--tasted like sweet water. Funny rules about what kind of drinks are complimentary (i.e., no Margueritas). Tip: get beer or maybe wine for the freebie. Ordered some appetizers--they were okay, edible-- but caused us to skip ordering any more food/meals at the hotel. Bar, outside dining service was very poor and we were the only ones there. Hotel location is a few blocks away from the center of activity, which could be a good thing during busy times.
Positives were the front desk agent, Randi, and the resort activities coordinator, Jamie (who was so sweet and enthusiastic trying to get folks to partake in games). Pool area was nice. Key required for entry to/from beach to pool area. So if you are looking for a place where you can walk straight from the pool to a beautiful sandy beach, this is it. Also, enjoyed the balcony and full on ocean view. Just keep your room and "resort" expectations down.
