Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Stay Check in was a little slow but Keith was very friendly and made sure we received a room with an excellent view. Was a little worried that our room was right when you got off the elevator but it was not a problem. Room was very clean and the beds and pillows were great. We were on the 6th floor and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Could not believe how quite the hotel was. Never heard any noise from above or beside us and the hall way was the same. Will be staying here on our next visit to Galveston. August 17, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overall First Impression I stay at many holiday inn hotels around the world as you can see from my profile. My first impression when I pulled up to the hotel was "this isn't what I thought I booked". The front desk was great, parking was awful, had to park across the street and walk back to it late at night. The hotel was right out of the 1970's and so was the business features. Internet was so bad we went next door to a more modern hotel for work. The plugs / sockets in the room did not work properly and awoke with a dead laptop computer and I-phone. (both plugged into two different outlets) This hotel needs a major facelift to the rooms and being a platinum member I would have expected a view to be a little better at the beach then of a parking lot with no balcony. I also went to the corner store down the street and purchased some chip clips to keep the blinds shut as they would not fully close and feared someone would look into the room and steel my stuff during the day. The room was also near the pool and had way to much foot traffic past my door for my liking. August 15, 2014

I travel ALOT to hotels of all qualities and never have I had a hotel manager and staff work so hard to accommodate a request that would have typically been answered with a "sorry, cannot help you" response. Not only did the hotel manager call me back personally, she got us in the hotel at the very last minute (we called on a Friday to arrive that night), we got the rooms we needed and were so pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was and the friendliness of the staff at all levels. This was an impromptu end of summer trip that turned out to be one of the best trips ever! August 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Anniversary get away We checked in and I mentioned we were there for our anniversary in passing during conversation. When we got back from dinner, we had a complimentary tray of fruit/cheese plate and a bottle of wine with a card. Such a nice extra touch....we appreciated it and will remember it for the future.
