Great location - right next to the resort where we were attending a wedding.
Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but had certainly been a smoking room in the past.
Service was excellent.

Beautiful sunrises and breathtaking sunsets make this room with a balcony a wonderful way to enjoy the Gulf Coast. Check in was prompt and as an IHG member, you are greeted by name and not as a number.
Parking behind the hotel was well lit and is easy to access for those Galveston excursions. While I was there for business, I plan to return for leisure and to rejuvenate. I was most pleased at how quiet this facility was. I did not hear an elevator or doors slamming all night. There were virtually no noises down the corridor to interrupt my work or sleep and that is important since it was during Mardi Gras.

The rooms were nice and the staff friendly. However, the room they sent us too had baggage in it and we were put in what we considered a lesser room that had construction and painting going on. So the smell of paint and work starting early Sunday morning was annoying.
Also there were supposed to be buses to Downtown Galveston for Madi Gras. We were told a bus every 30 minutes by staff then after waiting in the cold for over an hour and half we gave up. After the staff said they could not tell us the timing on the buses.
We went to the hotel restaurant which was not busy but all the other restaurants close to the hotel were packed. When we got into the hotel we understood why. Restaurant staff were not focused on their job except the hostess who was pulling double duty as hostess and waitress. Food choices were very limited. Like going to a Denny's. Food was tasty though. Breakfast buffet was very good and wait staff much better but still not as responsive as they should have been. Took repeated calls to get their attention and this was for buffet. Feel if the restaurant had a more upscale night menu they would do much better. The chefs cooked very well and I had a Chilean sea bass as their special for Valentines day which was cooked well. So the chefs can cook and maybe need a more challenging menu at night.
Did not complain to staff as it was Madi Gras and things do get crazy.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel twice within 6 months and enjoyed it very much both times. The rooms were very clean and updated with a great view of the ocean.
The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful in giving us information about the shuttle and restaurants.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Capt1956 Not a resort. Just a hotel across from the beach
They call this hotel a Resort and it's a Hotel across from the beach. Pool is ok and the staff is very good. lot of noise depending on what side of the hotel your on. Good parking.
I was there and because of the rate change to triple of what I paid the night before I had to move to another hotel. Did not even try to meet me half way. Still a good Hotel just watch out for rate switch.

Hotel was under construction and had to move to different rooms. Wifi was only available on the west side of the hotel. Rates were raised during the stay.
