We originally booked for 4 nights with Osaka Intercontinental, but ended up staying 6 due to a medical emergency. We received excellent service from the moment we booked our room, to when we sadly[More]
had to leave.
Prior to arrival, Concierge was quick to respond to my email enquiries about our booking and also made reservation at a popular restaurant for us competently. My son fell ill as soon as we arrived and got into our room. The staff calmly provided support by sourcing a hospital that would see my son. Knowing we spoke no Japanese, a staff member was sent to accompany us to the hospital and stayed with us. A consistent approach was adopted the second time when within 2 days my son had to go to hospital again in an emergency. The staff helped us manage a stressful situation in a foreign country and we were grateful for their support throughout. When we needed to extend our stay at the hotel due to my son's condition, again the staff worked hard to sort this out for us. We know they had to try hard to move things around to make this happen, as it was one of the busiest weekends and the hotel, like all the other hotels in the area, was already fully booked weeks ago.
We would like to thank Hitomi Soyama in particular for her excellent professional but caring support at the first hospital. Without her it would have been a very difficult first day in Japan. Ryotaro Kobayahi also was very helpful in accompanying us to the second hospital in the middle of the night. Also thanks to Taskeshi Mizuguchi who stayed with my son for a short while when Ryotaro had to go. We were also grateful for the support offered by the Guest Experience Director Jerome Palacoeur, who personally made our extension of stay possible and contacted us to offer some kind support. The cleaning staff also deserve mentioning for providing top notched cleaning.
In terms of the room we had, it was a 2 bedroomed residence which was nicely laid out with all the comforts of a very modern, clean 5 star hotel and facilities of an apartment. It even had a washer dryer that is so useful for a family of 4. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and towels very fluffy.
All in all this was the best hotel we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many hotels over the years as we travel regularly. The other hotels we stayed in for the rest of our trip in Japan, including another Intercontinental in Tokyo, paled in comparison.
What makes this hotel stand out is not just its modern amenities and the affiliated comforts, but also the staff's caring attitude and professionalism. Thank you the staff of Osaka Intercontinental. We will try our very best to return one day. [Less]
I don't know if the Japanese invented Hotel Hospitality, but they certainly have perfected it! This was my first trip to Japan and I had heard about the amazing hospitality of the Japanese. It was[More]
everything I had heard and more.
This hotel went out of it's way to recognize me as an IHG Gold member on arrival as well as checkout. The hotel was very clean and modern. All the employees I had the pleasure to interact with spoke very good English. I had my breakfast in the club room each morning. The host was a pleasure to deal with and the breakfast is made to order. Worth the extra money to upgrade to a club level room.
The location of the hotel is great for making it a base of operations if you want to see this region of Japan. It is situated directly next to the Kobe Bullet Train station. From this hotel, I took the train to Kyoto and Hiroshima. There is also a metro stop here which you can use to access the main train station and the rest of the city. I realized that Kobe was an excellent choice after I saw the crowds in Kyoto. Kobe to Kyoto on the bullet train was about 30 minutes!
Hotel sits up on a hill over looking the city of Kobe. It has incredible views, both day and night. Plenty of shopping and dining in this immediate area. The Japanese people made this a very comfortable, and enjoyable trip for me. They are incredibly accommodating to tourist. Don't miss a chance to visit this wonderful country! [Less]
