I love staying here because it's actually in-town close to things to do. The problem with the resorts in the plantations is that they are so far from everything else to do, and most are not right on the beach; you have to walk through woods to get to the beach. I don't like being tied-down to one place, so the Beach House allows me to walk to several shops and restaurants just outside the hotel, plus the hotel is right on the beach.
Our room had a beautiful view. The facilities are also great with the large pool, 3 outside bars and restaurants, and the nightly live music. We could open our patio door and see the band.
The only negatives are that the hotel is older and kinda rough. It really needs a remodel. Carpets are stained, paint was pealing in our room, doors are hard to open and shut. It says Holiday Inn on the sign, but the rooms are closer to an economy chain. Also, they get a lot of partiers, which I like, but some of you may not.
Great locations and lots of fun, but don't expect 4 star service.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jackie275 Good stay, inaccurate billing
I was charged an early departure fee. Then i was charged for two nights i did not stay. When i called to resolve the billing problem, i was placed on hold 3 times and told a supervisor would call me back. Nobody followed up with me and i am disputing the charges through american express. The stay at the hotel was good, but the billing error and lack of follow up is unacceptable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very nice to be on the beach. Although this is a public access so it made for lots of crowds. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The bathroom was in poor condition and the sink drain did not work. The room was serviced daily but they did not supply us with fresh towels and washcloths. It was nice to be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and lots of bike paths. The smoking area is directly in front of the building so every time you go in and out of the building you breath in smoke.
