Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 230 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shame on Holiday Inn and Waikiki Beachcomber Resort Despite our ONE BED prepaid reservation and phone call three days before our arrival to confirm, the folks at check-in decided that we should have a room with TWO DOUBLE beds (very soft, uncomfortable beds) to celebrate our significant milestone anniversary. Despite our best efforts at speaking with the ENGLISH challenged front desk folks, we had not choice after 13 hours in the air. The room on a high floor did have a partial ocean view and a great view of a noisy CONSTRUCTION SITE below. The hotel is aging, not gracefully and looks like it did when it played host to legendary Hawaiian singer Don HO in the 70's, sort of stuck in a time warp. The infrastructure of the hotel is dated, the air conditioning sort of works, the elevators are slow and now require a room key to use (they instituted it while we were there, but didn't tell the existing guests). Waikiki is not a paradise for Hawaiian beauty, it is a shoppers paradise with upscale stores and busy shoppers, sort of New York's Fifth Avenue with a beach. I would NOT recommend this resort. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Center of Activity Great location near the center of Waikiki if you want to walk to shopping or dining. Right in the middle of a major shopping area and a one block walk to the beach. Difficult to use the balcony because of street activity, but once the shutters and drapes were closed it was very quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable. Upgrade and chocolate in the room because of Gold status. October 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Resort best decribed as a motel The hotel list itself as a resort, but offers the standard amenities of an ordinary hotel. The theme is outdated - when is the last time you ate a cheeseburger in paradise. The parrot head theme is out of fashion.. The hotel is centrally located, but does not provide the Hawaiian experience like the hotels on the beach. Beware of the money grubbing parking attendants! October 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ocean view was noisy Do not book this hotel if you are looking for a quiet place to get your kids to bed early (before 10 PM). Probably my least favorite Holiday Inn (out of dozens) I have ever stayed in. October 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Downtown Waikiki Property Great location and good value for money if able to purchase discounted rates. Rooms are big and airy - however restaurant is run independently and has limited menu. Helpful staff October 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, this was our 22 year staying here. We have been coming to this hotel for 22 years every October. It's our tradition to celebrate our anniversary here and always will be until we just can't travel anymore. There were 3 young ladies that were exceptional, at the desk. One of them has checked us in for many years back. It's is always a great experience to stay here. October 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Great Stay, friendly staff, easy parking, great location. October 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, comfortable room, exceptional service This hotel is very central to everything, and directly across the road from the Cheesecake Factory. It's an easy walk to the beach, and all the major shops are nearby. The room was clean, tidy, quiet, and dark when required thanks to the heavy black-out curtains. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist if I needed anything. October 8, 2014
