Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great location and friendly staff Nice hotel, a little old however great value and perfect for our stay, Being out of the city provides quiet privacy but close enough to still enjoy the Nice city. Location provides easy access to main hwy and airport. Beautiful view and design of hotel is very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.Restaurants on boardwalk provide great variety of food and good quality. November 9, 2013

Our three night Mediterranean cruise left out of Savona, Italy, the most convenient flight was from LAX to JFK to Nice. We had to take a two hour shuttle from the Nice airport to Savona, so we came in a day early just in case there were any airline delays, if we missed the shuttle it would be a very expensive taxi ride. I picked the Holiday Inn since it was one mile from the airport and had a free shuttle. I would be easy to get to the hotel, and back to the airport to catch our cruise shuttle. We landed around 11am, called the Holiday Inn for a pickup which took less than ten minutes to arrive. The shuttle driver Patrick, was excellent, the best employee at the hotel. At check in only one of our two rooms was ready, however the helpful agent was able to find another room for us right away, although not on the top floor, we were just happy to be able to sleep after 20 hours of traveling. After all, the hotel was very empty since it’s the off season so it should be easy to fin an empty room that was ready. We made it back to the airport the next morning and were off to our cruise in Savona. After the cruise we stayed another night at the Holiday Inn to visit our friends on their boat docked in La Napoule. However our experience with the Holiday Inn this time was completely different. I called the hotel when we arrived at the airport for a shuttle pickup and the lady said it would be 45 minutes. The hotel is one mile away, they assured me before I booked the hotel that we would simply give them a call and we would be picked up right away. I asked if they would reimburse a cab and she said that would be too expensive, so I had to argue until she sent the driver to pick us up. After picking us up, we went to the other terminal and pickup up more passengers, so I don’t know what the deal with a 45 minute wait was all about. It was about 1:15pm when we arrived at the hotel and both of our rooms were not ready. I asked if we could get different rooms as we had to change clothes before we were to be picked up at 2pm. Also we were going to be out all evening until 11pm so I wanted to get settled in to our rooms so we could just get back to the hotel and go straight to sleep. The desk agent, a different one than our first visit, would not find other available rooms, but called housekeeping to put a rush on our original rooms. As it got closer to 2pm they still had nothing for us forcing us to unpack our luggage in the lobby and change clothing in the lobby restroom. Our ride arrived and we had them check our luggage, I was extremely upset and asked if we would be able to retrieve our luggage at 11pm and they said of course. We arrived back at the hotel at 11pm, I sarcastically asked if our rooms were ready yet, it was a different male agent and he said yes and laughed. I asked about our bags and he said that he didn't have the keys to the luggage storage room, but the bags "should" be in our rooms. If they were not in our rooms we would be out of luck until morning. I told him that I'll check but if they’re not there, I would be back down to kick the door in to the luggage room and I was not joking. Also I asked if there were any notes about our conversations earlier in the day and he said yes with a smile, I'm sure they put some notes about a rude American giving them a hard time. Luckily our luggage was all in one of our rooms and I didn't have to go downstairs and cause some damage. It's just so surprising how having a couple good employees can make a stay so easy and pleasurable, on the other hand having to deal with a few incompetent staff can just ruin your whole stay. It’s obvious that there needs to be more training here to provide a consistently good experience. October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal for the Riviera As a platinum elite member we could not fault this hotel. We received an upgrade to a sea view executive room. High quality rooms and facilities with an awesome view. The hotel leads onto a lovely promenade of restaurants and marina. Parking was beside the hotel in a public car park with its own secure floor accessible only by a pass key. Easy access to the centre of Nice and only 20 miles from Cannes and 18 miles from Monaco/Monte Carlo. Our 6 day stay here was fantastic. September 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by For Beach holidays...nothing else This hotel is close to the Airport (5min-10min) and has it's own private man made beach which is superb. Lovely sand instead of smooth stones and pebbles. A wide selection of restaurants and bars are available along the rest of the beach front (Promenade des Flots Bleus). In terms of the hotel itself - I'll have to agree with other reviewers - it's a bit expensive for what you get. I've stayed in cheaper Holiday Inn hotels which are better quality. The rooms need a makeover urgently. Instead of having an ironing room on level 1 - do what other Holiday Inns do and give every room an ironing board and iron. Breakfast was ok - it's good if it comes with your room. There's a large shopping centre 10minute walk away - Cap3000. Worth a visit - prices are similar to John Lewis, M&S, Waitrose. We got our bottles of Water from there - still a lot cheaper than getting it from the hotel. Would I go back? Yes purely because of the beach. If you want more of a "see Nice" holiday then stay at the one in town. Make sure you use the hotel's airport shuttle service. Overall - it's an ok Holiday Inn but a bit overpriced for what you get internally but the beach location makes it sort of worth it....just! Merci August 27, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff, not so great facility I have never spent so much money on so little. The rooms are in a poor state, peeling wallpaper, etc. The bed was comfortable (after flying in from the States, I was tired!) and the location is ok, near a large shopping center and the room was quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly and I appreciated the complimentary shuttle to the Nice airport. But considering what I spent on the room, I expected a four star resort-I don't mind paying to use the beach, this is typical in this part of the world, but the room was just not really worth the money. Next time I will stay at the Holiday Inn in town. August 18, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 They still owe me money The hotel is well positioned near the sea. There are bars and restaurants nearby and you will want to use them because of the cost of drinks in the hotel bar (9 eu) each. Breakfast is so so. Aircon was weak and not up to the job. The worst was that I was overcharged for drinks from the bar. When I pointed this out, the staff were unable to refund my money in the 20 mins I had available to check out before my flight. I wrote to the hotel and 48 hours later I have heard nothing I'd give this place a miss July 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Resort hotel just on the Beach. Stayed for a weekend at the HI Resort outside Nice. The location is amazing with the beach and boardwalk just outside the hotel. The hotel does not have a pool but have a man made beach (discounted fee for hotel guests of approx. €15). The beach offer sun lounge service with various food and drink menu. Staff is very friendly and service minded. The hotel offer nice large and spacious rooms all with a privat balcony. The rooms are clean and look well maintained. They offer a breakfast restaurant, (€23 per person if not included in your rate), a lobby bar and a seaside restaurant. This hotel could have been a 100% sucess, but minor issues did occure during our stay which, brings our rating down a bit. Refused service by waitor in restaurant before closing time. Refusal to charge a credit card below €10 in the bar (never heard of nor was there any signage idicating this). The above issues was brought to the attention of the front desk staff. One was resolved after some pursuaing to the bar maid. We never heard anything from either the duty manger or restaurant manager regarding the refused service in the restaurant. If you are lucky you get to meet Emelie or Margaux at the front desk, these 2 girls makes you feel very welcome at the hotel. July 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I know you are on the sea, but you need a pool! Fantastic stay but would have loved to have been able to unwind in a steam room or similar. I know the sea is only 50 yards away, but a pool of sorts, even a Jacuzzi would would have been nice. I couldn't quite bring myself to submerge in the Med in April! Other than that, the affiliated restaurant was very nice and not too busy but a little pricey and menu restricted. That said we had an excellent meal and they would not take a tip from us! If you don't like the affiliated restaurant, then there are more facilities serving food than you can shake a stick at along the promenade, equally close. Plenty of free parking after hours and not more than a couple of Euros to cover you until 6.30pm if you pitch up at 4pm. Easy to get to, easy to get away from. Pleasent staff, very comfortable and spacious rooms, although we were upgraded (thanks so much) on account of our Plat status. So with the exception of a slight lack of facilities, an excellent stay and one to be repeated if in the area. Thanks May 14, 2013
