Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed my stay I enjoyed my stay at HI Resort in Panama City Beach. Staff was great even with construction going on during the day. February 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great facility and staff We stay here several times a year and are never disappointed. There's no reason to leave the grounds - beach, tiki bar, lounges, pool side movies, Polynesian fire show, & on site restaurant - but if you do decide to explore, the staff is super helpful and offers shuttles to and from your car. Super fun hotel and a great escape! :-) January 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awsome Although the property is not at its best condition...we truly enjoined our stay...It was October, but the weather and the ocean were so nice...the kids had fun at the hotel..and the night activities/shoes were a plus we weren't expecting. Didnt have to leave the premises all all...very satisfied. January 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Management of Noise and Patrons at Thanksgiving This property is beautiful and family friendly. It sports many amenities especially the heated pools and waterpark for kids, a Jacuzzi in addition to the beach. The property is aesthetically pleasing and the décor made me feel like I was on an island resort. Being just 15 min away from Pier Park and Cobra Arcade were huge pluses. Unfortunately, if you want to get some sleep do not visit at Thanksgiving. I suffered through children stomping all hours of the night in the room on the floor above me for four straight nights. After 2 or 3 calls I just gave up only to encounter the noise first thing in the mornings. Although Security was notified they were unable to get this matter under control. Also, my next door neighbors were throwing parities all hours of the night with their guest knocking on my door at 2am. Imagine my discord after reporting these problems that they did not get resolved. Being on the lower level lends itself to the noise from the pool when adults (yes adults) create such a ruckus at 10pm-12am that security has to advise them to tone it down, because patrons are sleeping. The restaurant seemed ill prepared for the volume of occupants which resulted in a 45 min to 1 hour wait just be seated. The food is average and prove to be not worth the wait or cost. While the staff was apologetic and try to compensate me for my trouble my Thanksgiving which was suppose to be a time to relax with my 17 year old son proved to be challenging. Under no circumstances will I be returning during the Thanksgiving season but I love the hotel enough to attempt to return during the summer to see if I have a different experience before I write it off completely. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff but more of a night life hotel My family and I stayed at this resort over christmas because we are far away from family and wanted to take a mini-vacation. From the moment we arrived the staff was super friendly and accommodating. They were helpful with restaurant information and even made some calls to find out which were going to be open for the holiday. They even nada golf cart and sometimes a van which picked you up from the parking lot and drove you to the front entrance. Our biggest problem with this resort was at night when it was time for bed. We have two toddlers so when its bedtime we want them to stay asleep and that did not happen here. Our first night ended with moving to another room because the adjacent room was too loud. The walls in this hotel are extremely thin and we could literally hear everything that was going on even if they were casually talking or if their multiple children were jumping around screaming (which they were). Every room also faces the poolside which is a lovely view but the pool is open until midnight (even during their off season) and you can hear anyone who is out there. We asked our neighbors personally to quiet down and the hotel security attempted to speak with them about the matter however they did not speak english and refused to open the door for security. Security did not try to quiet them down but just dropped the whole issue assuming they would quiet down eventually. Midnight came and that did not happen, so we moved to another room that had no one on either side and it was quiet. The quality of the first room was excellent and the front desk staff had mentioned that it was a newer room. The tub stopper did not hold the water well and there were no hooks to hand towels on, but everything else was great. Our second room was less than average and it was evident that this was an older room. The bed were flatter, not as comfortable and squeaked A LOT when getting in or out of bed. The bottom of the tub had a yellowish film that I was able to scratch off with my fingernail so obviously it was possible to clean. There were multiple dents on the wall and there was paint chipping all around the room. The second night was the boiling point and actually caused us to leave the hotel. After being told by the front desk staff that they would try not to put anyone next to us (they were definitely not full up on rooms and realistically could have put these people anywhere else), we ended up with people on both sides of us. We were able to hear them but they were just speaking casually and not trying to be obnoxious. It was the people below us that had no common courtesy for others because they were out on their balcony drinking, screaming and chanting. We spoke with them personally and told the front desk staff but had no hopes for anything being resolved so we ended up packing up our belongings and our sleeping children and driving back 3.5 hours home. My last comment is about communicating between hotel staff/employees. We were told by the front desk staff and by a couple waitresses in the hotel's restaurant that they would be serving a traditional christmas dinner. We got to the restaurant around 7 pm on christmas night and they had only their regular menu and the hostess said they were not doing a christmas dinner. After 10 minutes she was able to seat us and after about 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take our order we left because our children were antsy and we were hungry. If you are single or just a young married couple without children this hotel is great for you and you will probably enjoy it. As a parent of two young children, when night time comes we like quiet and this hotel is not able to offer that. Despite the friendliness of all the staff, they seemed uneasy around our energetic children and unsure how to act around them (mainly the restaurant staff as the front desk ladies were very engaging and fun with our kids). This was definitely not an enjoyable experience for my family and if we have learned one thing it is that we may not stay in hotels anymore. December 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay at HIPCBEACH We enjoyed our 2nd stay with the resort. Everyone was very friendly to us. Had a couple of minor maintenance issues but with the help of the Engineering team, those were quickly resolved. Took advantage of the buffet for the week we were there and always had good food. Special thanks to our server, Sheryl, who was wonderful and always took very good care of us. Assistant GM, Phyllis, checked us in and was SUPER! We took part in the various evening shows and really enjoyed them. The newly updated pool is awesome! See you in the Summer of 2014 PCB! December 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel All Hotel Staff were helpful and friendly all had great customer service skills. The room was clean, I liked the plantation shutters kept room dark if we wanted to sleep in. Overall our stay was more than we expected. I would like to return in January. December 5, 2013
