Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent beach and rooms, not so good service The beach was great! It was silent and clean, and the water was clear. (We swam there only early in the morning due to our early flight departure.) The pools were also nice. Rooms were well furnished and decorated. My Gold Elite status was not taken into account. They mentioned it during check-in but there was no benefit (no room upgrade, no drink coupons, no discount in restaurant, no newspaper, no fast service...). The check-in/check-out was extremely slow. Since we stayed only one night, much faster service would have enabled evening swim and early arrival at airport. However, the check-in took a long time: it was bright when we arrived but after check-in it was dark already. The check-out was even slower. All three desks were occupied and we had to wait about 20 minutes before one of them become free. Processing the bill (very simple!) took also very long time. Even worse: we asked the bellboy to bring our luggages from the front of our room to the taxi. It took 25 minutes! We reminded them in every 5 minutes and asked the situation from 3-4 different people. They always sayd "it's coming very soon, don't worry." We had already a tight schedule due to our flight and because of the major problems in the hotel serviice we almost missed the check-in at airport. Check-in people at the hotel didn't know very much about the hotel services. They told us there is a Thai buffet in the restaurant, but when we went there it was not Thai and it was not buffet #only salad and dessert were buffet, but the main course was from the list#. We paid about 1250 baht per person for the dinner! Luckily kids ate free. There were no shops and no restaurants around due to the isolated location of the hotel. Therefore we had no other choice than the two restaurants in the hotel. Breakfast was fine. From the hotel web site it seemed that there is a bath in the kids room. However, it was not possible to close the drain. They provided "bath foam" in the bathroom, but there was no bath. I asked it from the front desk, but they just said "we cannot close it". There was Playstation in the kids room as well. However, we were not able to get any games for the children, because the "kids club was closed" #we arrived late#. The personnel didn't do any action for that #I'm pretty sure they had keys to the kids club, but they were not interested in making our stay more comfortable.# As a summary I could say that the facilities and beach are great, but the staff made our stay unpleasant. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pool Access Rooms Amazing We loved our overnight visit to the holiday inn resort. From the time our driver picked us up from the airport to the time he dropped us off again the next day, it was amazing. The room was exactly as described and shown in the pictures, we loved waking up and taking a quick dip before breakfast. We had dinner at the hotels restaurant late they made us feel welcome even though we could see they were ready to close up for the night. Breakfast at the Italian restaurant in the morning was lovely. January 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hardware, software needs some training Great hotel with new, clean and spacious facilities, including the rooms. Unfortunately staff was not on the same level and really needs to improve their service skills to bring the best out of this promising resort. We experience several service issues during our stay and even wrote complain letter with (in my opinion) fair review what happened to IHG. Unfortunately did not receive any proper answer from the hotel but standard "copy and paste" response. January 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable stay We loved the gorgeous beach and natural surroundings. Our room was comfortable and crazy to complain about this but we thought the duvet was too thick and heavy for Thailand heat and hence we had to lower the temp in the room to get comfortable since no sheet was provided. We just regretted wasting the air con when a sheet would have solved the problem. Loads of activities and safe environment to let the kids explore on their own. January 11, 2015
