Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service, beautiful resort. We had an excellent 10 night stay in the newer Busakorn Wing of the resort. This resort was located in the prime area of Patong. A very large resort, the Busakorn Wing had much nicer facilities and was quieter. An extremely beautiful pool. The stay allowed us to become friendly with the staff, namely the breakfast restaurant staff and the entry gate security guy, all who couldn't have been more pleasant. We enjoyed our friendly morning chats. The buffet breakfast was just divine, and was almost the highlight of my stay. Our room was kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff, sometimes twice daily. A credit to them. Our only cons, and they were quite deterring, was the sound in our rooms. They were very loud, footsteps from the room above, people working in the hallways, trolley carts crashing, sound from the hallways, the pool areas and surrounding bedrooms was very off putting and led to poor sleep. Also the smell of cigarette constantly wafted into our room, and followed us into breakfast and by the pool. There was no escape from it at all! I would certainly recommend that the resort implements smoking zones around the resort. All in all we had an enjoyable stay though and would still recommend this fine establishment. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant Stay Good location, walking distance to shops, restaurants, cafes. Efficient and friendly front desk staff, making check in and out a breeze. My Phi Phi Island trip was cancelled due to bad weather and I was granted early check in at 11.30am, 2 1/2 hours earlier. Greatly appreciated as I have 2 children with me. Security is good. After playing at Patong Beach, my children were covered with sand and we rinsed them off using the taps at the entrance of Holiday Inn before they went for a swim. I was approached by a staff who asked if I were a guest. I took no offence as he was very polite and I feel is only right he asked. Manager was also prompt in replying my emails prior to arrival even though mine were trivial questions. Room was not bad but I don't like the balcony. No view and quite dirty, maybe because of the rainy season? September 14, 2014

The only thing is the beach outside the hotel is not the best in Phucket, and one of the front desk staff I meet during my stay is not that nice as the previous one... hope that is a rare case. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pool Access room We stayed in a pool access room, the room was fantastic ,will most certainly book this hotel again but not this room, only 2 issues with the room we were next to a laundry storage area and it was noisy from about 7am so hard for a sleep in, the room outside area had a lot of shrubs and was a mosquito breeding ground so could not use sun loungers outside room. and If we left room door open wee were bitten none stop We told reception about the problem and were told to stay inside and close the doors. we tried mosquito coils and used 6 cans of mosquito spray in room and that kept it reasonable . the staff that look after the room were fantastic and to great pride in there work. The staff are alway friendly and polite, They were great. The room was a good standard for me as I was on my own for this trip. I have stayed with family previous trips and the same applies, the rooms were alway to my and the family standard and very comfortable to stay in for the time we are there. We have just returned from a 2 week stay in Phuket, we stayed elsewhere before we spent 8 nights at the holiday Inn in the Busakorn Wing, we stayed in a pool view villa room 2204 which was absolutely amazing! They refilled the mini bar daily with fresh ice, bottled drinking water, beer soft drink and bacardi breezers, free wifi in the room also! A/C worked brilliantly! Room service was amazing, everything was always spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet had a HUGE variety of food to satisfy anyone's taste and alot of kid friendly food also. We had a beautiful dinner at Sam's Steak house, it is a bit on the flashy side, but so worth it, it is the best steak! The guys at the pool bar are wonderful, they're service is extremely efficient. We spent a fair amount of time at the pool bar and got to know the staff who were more than happy to chat and advise us on different things to do or just happy to spend time chatting and comparing our different cultures. We would like to express a special thanks to Niyom from the pool bar who was particularly fantastic and we cant wait to see and speak to again!! We also had the privilege of meeting the manager "Prapa" of the busakorn wing that has been there since the Busakorn wing was built, we had a fantastic chat with him and he even purchased us a drink! We unfortunately got ill from eating some "not so fresh" Thai food out on the street, but discovered a doctors clinic in the hotel that were only to happy to help us with some medication which fixed us up within 24 hours, so we were out and about the following day, only to return to the room to find a lovely bouquet of flowers in our room with a get well card from the busakorn team! We have traveled to many places, and have found this to be the best hotel we have ever stayed. From security, elevator guards, reception staff, waiters, cleaners, room service, barman, grounds keepers.......every staff member in this hotel was friendly, helpful, polite and always smiling. Nothing was ever too much trouble. we have 2 young children whom did not accompany us this trip, but we are looking forward to returning with them in the near future. Ultimately if anyone can fault something with this hotel or it's staff then I feel they must have expectations that are impossible, as we could not fault anything if we tried!
