WE come here every year to celebrate our Anniversary. The staff go far beyond what they need too. They are funny and always remember our names and what we drink or eat

Most of the staff at the hotel was lovely and kind. The food was fine, although I did get food poisoning on the fourth day and it took me a good week until I could eat a regular meal again. I was bed ridden for two days. Thank goodness my husband and children did not get sick and were able to enjoy the benefit of Mexico without me. Upon speaking to others at the hotel it seems that it was very common that one family member got sick at the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good location, but they started construction next to our hotel and it started at 8 am,working until 8 pm, including weekends. I am talking about very loud drilling in the rock ground. I know that the hotel does not have control over this. The hotel room was disgusting. Furniture was covered in scratches and stains. The closet door was badly damaged. The bathroom was the worst. There was mold around the vanity. Mold was all over the ceiling. The soap holding the shower was all rust. One of my children accidentally put the soap in it and had to be thrown out. The floors had caked on grim around the edges and corners. The toilet had two large cracks in the back. They had been patched up with caulking but it was very noticeable. When I asked if we could be moved to another room, they told us that we would have to check out at noon and check in again at 4pm. There might be a chance during that time that they could find a new room. I was traveling with children and it seemed unreasonable that we would be without a room for four hours and only the possibility that another one would be available. Surely the computer could tell them that without that song and dance of packing up everything and not accessing our belonging for the main part of the day. Surely they could just switch us to a clean room. Maybe all the rooms look like that. I spent a lot of money on this trip on this once in a lifetime trip and I am sorry that I chose the Holiday Inn. I do not recommend the Holiday Inn.
