If you like to keep it simple, in a beautiful location with teenagers, this is the place for you. Thanks to the staff at Kandooma, our family was able to enjoy a just right mix of activity, relaxation and pampering. It is difficult to please 5 people at the same time but this resort fit the bill. Our bungalow over the sea was perfect, There was a separate bedroom for the kids and a common living area, with our own dock complete with lounging furniture and a hammock. The marine life was all around and having our own snorkels helped us check out the island from the fish's point of view. The reef around the hotel is repopulating but we were also able to take a boat daily to other areas to see more diverse reef sea life.
Starting from the prearrival emails to the pick up at the airport, the staff and facility were all above our expectations and make our stay memorable. The half=board service completely met our needs and the fun mocktails were available poolside for the downtime. We would suggest more bingo and maybe another alternate teen friendly activity in the evenings but otherwise we were perfectly pleased with our choice.

The vacation is filled with all good things.
I like the Stay Indulgent plan very much. Although it is expensive, it sure gives back a lot of value to you.
Just wanna mention something here for the resort to improve:
1) The AC in room 151 is quite noisy. It should be checked and fixed, probably just the rotor needs to be cleaned internally. Daikin is a name brand.
2) The Wi-Fi should really be improved. For a country like Maldives, where data roaming isn't working, guests rely mostly on resort Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi here is quite strange. It disconnect your device at the moment your Wi-Fi is turned off, so for devices like iPhones which turn off Wi-Fi spontaneously to save power, you need to constantly log-in every time you turn your device back on. Please make the disconnection timeout longer. Also, the Wi-Fi is quite spotty on the tiny island, so please improve the coverage.
3) The description of Stay Indulgent plan should be more detailed. It is a good plan, and basically it has no limits. Please make this clear in the plan description, so that people don't guess what to get when purchasing this plan.
All in all, these drawbacks don't get me away from totally enjoying the good time on the island. Definitely will come back, but please do improve those.

We all read the reviews and I was amazed that there were any negative reviews. Some people must have come here expecting a budget holiday with great expectations - no wonder they got it wrong.
Lets face it maldives is not the cheapest place for a holiday and when you have a 45 min shuttle in a speed boat expect a charge.
Honestly we have been blown away. Having travelled to many places we have experienced some great service, we have experienced great food, some have great amenities, some have wonderful beaches, some even have the most attentive staff but here we experienced the collective of all these things that have made this the most wonderful and unforgettable holiday so far.
It is very personal and yes they remember you villa number but also your names. The staff ratio is nearly 3 -1 guest so we have had a wonderful experience.
The villa we occupied for our two week duration was set back from the each in the garden but was still less than one minute walk to the beach. The beautiful pictures of the villa on the web site are exactly that, you really get a wonderful villa. Amenities in the villa, free water, oranges daily, Illy coffee and mini bar just add to the well thought out decor and ambience that you feel.
The food is a mix of asian, european and themes across the restaurants with special set menus for Christmas and New Year. There is no shortage of food and this has been some of the best buffets we have experienced (not sure about steamed shrimps though).
The beaches are to beautiful to describe with the main beach being by the pool and affording great views of the boats and excursions and diving coming and goings. Free water all day at the beach and free factor +30 sun cream. The sun beds are sterilized at the end of the day which I have never seen before. West beach is in a small alcove within the lagoon and allows safe swimming for all ages amongst the fish.
The excursions are terrific with complementary snorkeling each morning before breakfast which sets you up nicely. We saw hundreds of dolphins and turtles and array of reef fish on may of the trips. the trip to the local island with guide was the only disappointment as we were shepherded into what was claimed on of the few stores (sarongs, bangles, picture frame and coral necklaces = $1100. Forget it). There were many stores offering better products and deals.
The staff (crew as they like to be described) are probably the best at good customer service I have experienced for a beach holiday. They are well trained, courteous and really appreciate the tips. they look after you every point of the day. Housekeeping of the villa was exceptional. the villa looked like new everytime we returned.
Credit to the whole island it does not feel like a Holiday Inn!!!!

If you want a hotel with excellent accommodation (beach house number 4 is fine), with fine cuisine (dinner in the Kitchen, with ocean views are unforgettable), good-natured staff (thanks Zareer and Munnim) and a beach with turquoise water in three steps from home, then follow in Kandooma!

Great place with welcoming staff who tend to every need.
Well priced fantastic laid out resort with lots to do.
Would recommend to couples and families and will definitely be going back.
