Checked in for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the staff and the condition of the rooms. We liked it so much we returned a few days later to stay another 3 days. [Less]
Great Service

Nice hotel, friendly, attentive staff, updated lobby area. The room was small for a king size bed and the furniture felt cramped. [Less]
Friendly staff, inviting spaces
By CRJEJ
Check it was easy and staff was friendly and accommodating. Lobby is really unique and quite pretty. Only complaint is that there was a dirty sock left under the corner of our bed, from a [More] previous guest. We had a king room with a whirlpool and the "doors" that opened from the whirlpool into the room were a bit strange. They do not allow for noise/smell privacy when using the bathroom, which is a little awkward, especially with no bathroom vent fan. This was not a well thought out design feature and is really unnecessary. If the doors existed for someone to watch TV from the whirlpool or something, it might make more sense, but the tub faced the wrong direction for that to be possible. [Less]
Enjoyed our stay; needs to update linens
By Pokeyann
Overall our stay was great. I have dietary restrictions (no grains), the breakfast had enough variety that I was able to have a great breakfast without having to use my food stash I travel with. The [More] weekend morning's of our stay, there seemed to be issues with keeping the breakfast stocked fast enough. The staff working on this were clearly agitated. This didn't affect us personally other than trying to stay clear of the grumpy staff. That being said, I really was grateful for the variety offered. I specifically booked a Holiday Inn Express based on a recent stay at another one that had excellent pillows and linens. I was disappointed that the linens and pillows at this location need to be replaced, the linens specifically are very worn. There was no discernible difference between the "firm" and "soft" pillows. The pillows were king size, which is always nice to go along with the king size bed. The bed itself was comfortable. We usually bring our own pillows when traveling, but didn't because of the expectation of great ones that were actually king size. We regretted not bringing our own. The room was very clean...even the corners and the fan in the bathroom. I rated the overall hotel cleanliness a bit lower because unfortunately there was a very bad odor on the first floor in the hall out to the parking lot...I'm assuming this is temporary and possibly guest caused with a in room microwaved meal gone badly? Again I was very impressed with the rooms cleanliness. The front desk staff were courteous and we were checked in and out quickly. A very minor hiccup was at check in and not being told the internet password/log in was written on our key card envelope. We easily figured it out, like I said minor but took us a moment to think through where this info would be. The day of check out we were not able to log in anymore, I would have assumed the code would work until check out time. The location was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Overall we enjoyed our stay and if the linens and pillows are updated we would return if we ever get up that way again. [Less]
Girl's Trip!
By RSDexter
We did not just come to Asheville to visit the Biltmore so we chose to stay in this location for access to other places. The hotel is easy to get to, very clean, and the front desk staff were very [More] friendly. A bonus was the outlet mall right across the road. I only had two issues with the room - the drapes are not made in such a way as to black out all light. There was a street light in the parking lot that shone into our room ALL night so every time my eyes opened, I thought it was 7 AM. Not very restful. I also asked for a rollaway. That mattress was horrible, even for a rollaway. The breakfast was as expected and filled an empty stomach, nothing more. On the plus side, the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, location, and price far out weighed the room issues. The wifi was ok for everything except facetiming. I would stay here again, without the rollaway!!!! [Less]
