I was there for one night using reward points, but got a fantastic room with balcony. The room is modern, fresh and very clean. Nespresso machine, Water, all perfect. Will definitely go back there.

We stayed here our last night in Germany. We booked our train ticket from Frankfurt to take us to our final destination for no additional cost and didn’t have to purchase a separate local ticket once we reached the Hbf and took the U78 or U79 train to Victoriaplatz. We exited that station via the south end (toward the back of the train as you arrive from the Hbf) elevator which puts you right on Cordobastraße in the median of a busy road where we crossed the northbound lane and walked east 100m to its end and turned right. About 50m later on the right is the Hotel Indigo! Unfortunately, we arrived just a little after sunset and had to leave before sunrise so we didn’t really get to see this place in daylight or to enjoy our large balcony. As a Platinum IHG member, they did upgrade me to a room with a large balcony. It was #122. When they said that I had been upgraded and the room was on the 1st floor (2nd floor for us Americans and Canadians), I wondered, but the balconies on the higher floor were non-existent except for the corner rooms so I saw our upgrade and was happy! (this balcony would be great in the summer with longer daylight hours). When we entered the room, it reminded me of a room that we had at a hotel in Stuttgart last year except for the murals. (size, bed, wooden floor, white and black colors, bathroom setup, etc.) The room was nice with a divided area for the bed and the desk/closets. There were ample outlets as others have said. The safe and fridge were on the divider in between. I called down to verify that I could rearrange the mini-bar items in the fridge but then realized that it was cool enough (about 5C/41F) outside to just put my beer on the balcony! I will get to their restaurant later, but the guy at the front desk recommended a great place with good local food and popular with the locals about 200m/y away called Himmel und Ahd. (the ladies at the front desk were nice but not as focused) On the way there is a small grocery where beer/wine/snacks/etc. can be purchased at very decent prices-much better than even the best mini-bar prices. (I got a couple half liters of good Czech beer for 0,99€ each) The bathroom was average size with decent amenities provided. There was a sink area, toilet, and shower, but no tub. The shower only had a half glass, stationary barrier from floor to ceiling so water would splash out on the bathroom floor from the non-protected, back half. One item for the hotel’s attention is that some of this water from the bathroom floor flows into the bedroom, even with the bathroom door closed. This could lead to long-term damage to the wooden floor. They need to install something to block this flow into the main room (the bathroom floor is not wood so there is no issue with floor damage there) or there will be issues in a few years with rotting floor in the main area just outside the bathroom! Another issue with wooden floors that we had was the upstairs neighbors. It sounded as if they were rearranging furniture about 3 am so there were a few moments of loud, scraping, screeching noise! I have no major complaints with the room; I thought it was cute and actually liked it. To sum up, it was average to above average size, had a large balcony, a safe, good tv, a desk area, comfortable chairs, and more, had a decent bathroom, and good closet and storage area for luggage. My issues about the room are those mentioned: 1) the potential water damage to the floor and 2) the noise from above. The reason that this hotel is not getting a 5 concerns the restaurant and breakfast. As a Platinum member, I think I deserve a complimentary breakfast. I had read some older reviews where Platinum members were given an evening meal and other goodies, but all we received was a choice of drinks/snacks (not sure if only for 1 person or both of us) at the bar or a choice of 600 IHG points; I chose the points. We did get the room with the nice balcony, but again they need to reward IHG’s most loyal members a little better. The ladies at check-in didn’t seem to volunteer anything that we were receiving until I asked and weren’t as helpful as the young man there that late afternoon. We had to leave the hotel at 6h30 for our 8h15 flight so we probably couldn’t have enjoyed breakfast anyway, but it would have been nice to have the choice! The menu in the room’s information book didn’t list anything noteworthy, although the dinner menu had salad, sandwiches, lasagna, and lots of drink choices, but it didn’t look too German or appetizing to me! The breakfast menu was limited with one of the choices being a ham bone (?), egg, salad, toast, coffee, and juice for 11€. Their restaurant breakfast may be better but not sure how much it costs for the “buffet” I’ve seen referenced in other reviews. The dinner menu posted outside the restaurant wasn’t any better. One big positive is that they asked me if I wanted to be charged in € or US$ when I checked out. My IHG MasterCard does not charge a foreign transaction fee so I always get the best rate by choosing to be billed in the hotel’s local currency which was done correctly by a different guy at check-out. To reiterate my opinion, Platinum members should receive a complimentary breakfast as do another brand's Gold/Diamond members at comparable brands in that chain! If we need a place to stay before a flight again, this would be my choice in Düsseldorf. It’s easy to access by train, is in a great neighborhood, and is close enough to get to the airport for less than 20€ by taxi! I also got a great rate of 112€ (AARP rate# for one night. I might give the Intercontinental a try next time if I could get a good price, but this place is much better than the Düsseldorf Hhotel #stayed there in May 2013# and the Holiday Inn Ratingen #stayed there in March 2007). It’s at the top of my list in Düsseldorf for now!!!

Friendly welcome at the reception, but also in the room where our little girl saw and immediately fell in love with the teddy bear in her crib.
Nicely decorated hotel, good breakfast, great shower and a good wellness (although I'd have liked it even more when it was decorated in a little more relaxing style instead of the functional, sports/health style.)
