Although the staff were pleasant the room was internally noisy, loose nuts and bolts who knows what, but aggravating. Also, for a hotel located in the business area of a national capital the lack of simple amenities such as coffee and tea in the general area and no newspaper is "uncompetitive". Also, on two occasions the cable service was down. wanting to relax by watching the Stanley Cup games at the end of the day this was annoying. We were in Canada for God's sake! No hockey game on TV is unforgivable.

I was able to enjoy myself in Ottawa's downtown with this fantastic hotel. Got to sleep without ear plugs for the first time in years.

The Hotel Indigo is a beautiful looking hotel in an outstanding location. The front lobby is modern and well appointed and the staff are friendly and helpful.
However, having said that, parking is extremely inconvenient. You have to park around the corner and under a competitor's hotel (who shares the parking with Hotel Indigo). Once your car is parked, you actually have to go through the other hotel to get to the Hotel Indigo's lobby.
Although the room looked good on the surface, it had problems. The thermostat was hidden behind the TV. When it was found, its location meant that without a flashlight, it was too dark to read the temperature.
Finally, the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. In the two nights I was there, I did nt sleep well either night.
If you are visiting Ottawa, and location is your primary concern, then this may be the hotel for you. If you have other reasons for visiting Ottawa, then it might not be.
