This was our first stay at this hotel and our second stay at an Indigo (stayed in Düsseldorf, Germany, last month for a prepaid rate about 1/3 of the price here, not including breakfast, in a similarly sized room but with a large balcony). About a week before my arrival, I received a very nice email from Marius and then a follow up from Virginie with answers to most of my questions. That is top notch customer service. I mentioned that we should arrive just before noon which we did at about 11h30. They gave us two choices for rooms: one on a lower floor with a king sized bed and one on a higher floor with 2 (they called twin) beds. We chose the latter and were in Room #512 in 5 minutes (I forgot the room number when I sat down to write this review and sent an email to which Anne responded in less than 5 minutes-more top notch customer service). Room #512 was at the far end of the hotel and as far away from the noisy Rue de la Madeleine as possible. The beds were not twins…but doubles or queens. (I will attach a photo once this review is posted) The room was a good size. Upon entry, there was a toilet room off to the left and then another room with sink and a huge walk-in, rain shower. The only issue here is that you have to wash your hands after using the toilet so there should be a little sink in there…otherwise what to do if the other room is occupied? There was a chair and a table plus a mini-bar area. Note that there were only non-alcoholic drinks in the fridge, but all were included at no charge. The beds were very comfortable with duvets, firm pillows, and just the right firmness. We each needed an outlet, and there was one available on the side by the window, but the one on the other side had the telephone plugged in. They provided an extension cord, but it turned out that the phone had a long enough cord to reach the outlet a few meters/yards away on the wall. Wifi worked great although I had a hard time trying to watch a basketball game. They offer free wifi to all IHG Club members but should give better bandwidth, especially to Platinum members! Upon check-in, I received a handwritten welcome note from the General Manager, Vincent Poulingue. This was another sign of class and professionalism! Originally, I had booked my annual free IHG Chase MC night but decided to rebook and pay in advance and include breakfast. One glitch in the IHG system is that you can’t prebook the 2 for 1 breakfast when using the Senior or Free Night rate! To be honest, I think we received a larger room but not sure. I think it was an “Executive Club Level” room with 34 sqm, but I did not measure. The temperature in the room was adjustable and made the stay very comfortable in that respect. We could also crack the windows for air. My major complaint was the breakfast. The regular price for the buffet breakfast, if not paid in advance, is overpriced. It was a buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, breads, breakfast drinks, cheeses, etc, but did not include “eggs made to order”. Unless you are real hungry and/or have paid in advance, I wouldn’t do breakfast at this high price. For this price, they should make eggs to order and even omelets! The breakfast area was crowded and items were sometimes not replenished unless brought to the staff’s attention (i.e. scrambled eggs). The scrambled eggs weren’t too bad and didn’t require ketchup like some others I’ve had in the US! They may have been boiled eggs, but I don’t remember, but that doesn’t change my complaint. I also thought the overall room price was a little bit high. In conclusion, I was impressed by the Hotel Indigo Paris and would stay there again if the rate is good and/or the Le Grand is full. The location is fantastic, the staff is very professional and take good care of the guests, the room was very clean with a very comfortable bed and shower, it’s quiet and safe and very cozy due to its only 50 something rooms, and great for everything but my 2 main issues- the price and breakfast. Having stayed at the Intercontinental Marceau, I find these two to be very similar; the Marceau should change to an Indigo since it’s more in that genre! Unless I can get a very good room rate elsewhere, I would stay here. It depends upon your IHG status and personal needs, but for a Platinum Ambassador or higher, this is not as good of a choice, but it’s still one of the best properties in Paris! Give it a shot if you don’t need the club lounge and prefer a more intimate, personal experience! For better, non-censored reviews, check other web sites since IHG limits what you can say!

The Hotel Indigo Opera is a very nice boutique hotel in the Opera district. Take the Roissey bus from CDG right to the Opera and the hotel is just a few blocks away. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the rooms are large and clean. Everything seemed new and bright but the best thing about the hotel was the people. Breakfast was very well done and priced nicely. We really liked our stay at the Indigo Opera

It started with the fact that you can't directly approach the hotel by car which nobody had told us in the confirmation, This let to a number circles around the hotel in the Paris Friday evening rush hour. We had reserved parking spot. It turned out the actual parking lot was not open due to a fire and we had to park in the very narrow parking spot around the corner on the lowest level. The room was nice, but the toilet smelled of urine. We informed the reception next morning and ask cleaning. The seeming did something, but the smell was still there. On Sunday evening the toilet flush did stop running, but they had nobody to repair it. Therefore the gave us another room, but did not help to move our luggage. On departure they told us that they were not allowed to get our car out the underground parking and they could not help us to bring our luggage to the underground parking nor to guide us out the underground parking, which we ask for as there was only one narrow ramp for both incoming and outgoing cars and we had to leave Monday morning with incoming cars. Could be a very good hotel if there where sufficient staff and able to actually be helpful.
