I am always reluctant to stay in a college town when said college has a football team (at least I think this is true in Athens). I travel weekly for my job back in Florida and only wish this hotel was on my travel circuit...this place rocks...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyMOB Great service for our daughter's wedding weekend.
The staff was most accommodating and gracious as we planned the use of Hotel Indigo's facilities for our daughter's wedding and reception. All of the staff, including the front desk, food and beverage, and housekeeping worked hard in making sure all details were taken care of. The Rialto Room private facility is well designed for large events, in this case the reception, and the courtyard well suited for the wedding ceremony. We were very pleased in all aspects of our experience at Hotel Indigo - Athens!

As a frequent guest at the Hotel Indigo, besides the aesthetically pleasing architecture and overall warmth of the hotel itself, the staff has more than exceeded expectations. Having stayed at the hotel for an extended amount of time, I have more than likely been more demanding of staff than a typical guest; from the front desk, to management, to the staff at the bistro, to housekeeping, I have been refreshingly accommodated at every request and more than appreciative of the professionalism, friendliness, and courtesy with which they have consistently responded .
If you enjoy a well-designed hotel with rooms featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive dimensions, and all of the amenities you expect from a boutique hotel, the Hotel Indigo is for you. But, if you really appreciate high-end, quality customer service (not exactly ubiquitous in most establishments), then you'll be doing yourself a favor staying there.

Overall the hotel was very nice and a refreshing change from other places I have stayed. My only complaint has to do with the walled patio area. The pour concrete foundation wall behind the trellis is really disappointing. I get the concept of the hotel; the whole minimalist idea. But a poured concrete foundation wall? Complete with form marks? Really? I felt like the bride and groom got married in the unfinished area of my basement; the view was so similar I had to remind myself I was at a nice hotel, not next to my lawn mower and gardening gear. Even the overhead trellis was reminiscent of floor joists thanks to their proximity to the pour wall. Of course, the happy couple was oblivious so that's all that matters, right?
The Rialto Room was a very nice venue for the reception, one of the best I've ever seen for a wedding reception.

I HATE wicker baskets. I could not get the wi-fi to work. No fridge! The beds are not boxed in at the bottom, so things can slip under there. I had to retrieve a pen, and guess what--I don't think the staff has EVER dusted under there.
The big plus is that the shower head is actually high enough so that an average size man doesn't have to duck down to get his head wet. The detachable wand is a nice touch,

I thought my bed at home was nice, but the bed and linens at Hotel Indigo were the best ever. I awoke feeling relaxed and pain free (I often wake up a bit stiff in the joints).
My sleep was undisturbed, by noise or light. It was truly one of the best hotel stays ever, and I've traveled a lot.
One negative - the breakfast was disappointing. Not very tasty. So, eat out.
