If using this hotel and your staying in older section suggest getting room facing courtyard, We were given a room facing the highway and would have had to deal with traffic noise. Security in older section was also lacking. When we returned to our room late in the afternoon found that cleaning staff had left door open. Bathroom to small, unable to open door with bathmat on floor, drain not working in tub and no exhaust vent. September 17, 2014

Yes, some of this property's rooms are located in an external building, with each room having a direct entrance from the parking area, just like older Holiday Inns. No worries though. I frequently stay at a competitors properties and the rates are about 20% lower with comparable amenities. The truly bright spot regarding this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. We are in Southern Louisiana and the home of Community Coffee. To walk into the lobby with a pot of coffee greeting the guest with no coffee in it is unthinkable. After an hour and a half they finally cut the lock off the door. Their maintenance staff was completely clueless how to deal with the situation. The staff is not friendly and are rude. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping I explained in the survey. Housekeeping began knocking on our door each morning beginning around 9:30 when check-out wasn't until noon. We had posted the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign in the key slot. Each morning they would come back every 30 to 45 min. Not a good morning either morning nor experience. Good location as far as attractions and eateries in the area. The bathtub did not drain very well. Advised staff of this problem upon checkout. A/C was OK......could have been better. Did not mention this to the staff. My mistake......I should have. The staff was very friendly and professional. There was no complimentary breakfast buffet at this hotel. That was a surprise to me.......guess I missed that while making my reservation. That could be a deal breaker for me returning to this particular hotel in the future. I tend to stay where the breakfast is included. I was not recognized as an IHG Rewards Club Member. Lack of free breakfast and slow draining bathtub put aside, I can recommend this hotel to other travelers. August 1, 2014

It was obvious the facility was being maintained well. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The only small noticeable item was one of the drawers to the dresser did not close completely. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High School Reunion I was in town for my 50th high school reunion which was held at the Holiday Inn South in Baton Rouge, La. At first I was apprehensive about the venue but my concerns were put to rest when I drove up to the hotel. It seems that in the past, the hotel had some problems resulting in neglect of the property but I was impressed with the current condition of the property and the interior of the hotel. It turned out to be an enjoyable experience and stay at a very up to date hotel. I'd most definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives. Job well done ! July 16, 2014

The property needs some upgrading very soon: especially the restaurant (kitchen looks like it needs a serious cleaning).
