Hotel Indigo exceeded all expectations from hotel staff to room cleanliness

My wife and I went to Cleveland to spend the weekend in a new place and see the sights. I spend twice as much on my rewards point as I usually would because the Hotel Indigo was praised as IHG's upscale brand. What we found when we go there was the hotel had most likely been a remodel. Its location was off the main path and not located near anything convenient. The worst thing was the quality of the room. The bathroom door was a nice rolling glass plate meant to be very classy. However, it was so stiff that the my wife became trapped in the bathroom and I had to lift the door to move it. Worst yet was the lack of response from the night manager. When told about the problem he noted that it would be reported to the maintenance department. No offer to move rooms, no offer to compensate us for our problems. We were left with no bathroom door all weekend. To add to the problem the water pressure the whole weekend made showers interesting. This was not reported because I figured there was no point. The bed was very comfortable. I would not recommend anyone stay at this location. That is saying a lot since I stay at IHG hotels 8-10 times a month. There are only one or two I refuse to ever use again. Last point..... Every location I go to I get thanked for being a Gold Member. I'm not looking for it but you sure notice when its not mentioned.

This is a new hotel, only open a few weeks. Even though I could see they had things that needed to be addressed, it did not affect my stay. The room was clean with a very modern design.
