Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stylish room with a fantastic view My husband and I stayed for one night in a executive room with a balcony. The room shape was qerky - more of a triangle . With two sides floor to ceiling glass with an impressive view over the Birmingham skyline. The style was very modern, clean and bright. All members of staff we encountered in the hotel and the MPW restaurant were all polite and helpful. We would happily recommend this hotel to others. The location was perfect, within a short canalside walk to the NIA where we had booked to see a concert. Parking for our car was at the Mailbox, just a 5 minute walk. October 11, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It did not live up to our expectations. Unfortunately the lifts were not working and due tot he deign of this hotel, room, spa and restaurant this really impacted on our stay. We booked two rooms, i had a reasonable view the other felt like sleeping in a cardboard box with very little natural day light. This room was also very shabby with plaster falling from the walls. Service in the restaurant was not great and we were never even asked if we would like dessert. Over all quite disappointing. The staff were friendly and polite. October 10, 2014

Difficult to book Phones to spa never answered Bottle of wine at check in never came, had to ask 3 times! Check in at 3pm and check out at 12pm, less than 24 hrs. access to room and facilities Only 1 lift working You have to travel from the 23rd floor to the 5th to use the spa, then go up some stairs to check in, then down again. No car parking Rooms dated. Had better stays in a travel lodge October 9, 2014

Views over the city were amazing and we were made to feel welcome from the first minute. Open access to the spa was an unexpected bonus! Breakfast was wonderful with the best views in the city! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very small room with a large concrete column in the middle! On the outside and the web details this was a good hotel to stay in and we eagerly looked forward to staying here. Initially things were looking good until we got into our room. It was really small and had a large concrete colume roughly in the middle of the room next to the bed. This made it very difficult to move around particularly if you needed to get up in the night. When we checked in nothing was said about breakfast so unsure we checked the hotel guide in the room. Every hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world has such a guide and provides you details on the services provided including breakfast. The guide mentioned lunch and dinner but nothing about breakfast so we assumed that breakfast was not a service provided. We found out on checkout that breakfast was provided and included in our price. So we wasted money going out to breakfast! Finally, there was a private function planned in the bar / restaurant on the Sunday which we found out when we arrived and went there to have a quick drink. whilst there were very small notes about it being closed the staff totally ignored us and when we asked were quite rude in their rersponse. We only wanted a drink and the function was several hours away so they could have let us have one without distrubing the arrangements. October 4, 2014
