I loved everything about the Hotel Indigo, Del Mar. The staff was amazing. I loved the breathtaking views and firepits on the terrace off of the restaurant and the food was incredible.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill45 Comfortable beds and nice room decor
Our overall all experience was excellent . The mattresses were very comfortable and bed furnishings were perfect. The room was a clean comfortable mini suite. We hated the room coffee.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Camila1979 Wooden floors great! but odd recor, some rooms are nice; some are not, forexample those facing the parking lot in the 100 to 200 romm number
Del Mar as a location is the most appealing part of this hotel. I have been going there for at least 20 years. While Indigo made renovations, from my point of view none of them, other than remove the carpeting and replacing them with wooden floors, make much difference to me. In fact the services provided has actually gone down: plastic utensils, no wine glasses, no wine bottle opener, refrigerator too small without freezer (can put ice cream in there), no plates at all, not even paper or plastic. So, for those of us who knew the hotel when it was the Stratford Inn, the quality has gone down though the outward "appearance" has been jazzed up.
I rarely had breakfast at the Stratford preferring to go to the wonderful Startford Cafe, but doing away with the included breakfast is another sad change. It was nice to see so many people there with children, the TV on, etc. I would go to get a fruit or a cup of coffee before going out for breakfast. Does anyone use the restaurant at the Indigo?
The TV does not have HBO. If Indigo in Del Mar were located anywhere else I would never go back.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by travelforlife Would have given 5 stars, but staff and service was not consistent.
Just to explain, we checked in a second time two days after our first visit. Then checked out and back in later the same day we checked out for a third visit due to medical problems. Front desk was very accommodating and efficient the first visit and just awful, awful, when there was a shift change and a new person came on duty. Not only was she inefficient, but had a barely contained annoyed attitude when asked for assistance. Additionally, the maid service was fine for part of our visit, but really slipped on the third visit. The maid service did not replace complimentary tea bag, no complimentary water when we checked in, no soap, and instead of water glasses in bathroom sitting upside down on paper doilies they were setting on an unfolded kleenex and were not clean. Looked as though they were only rinsed out. Carpet in room really needs cleaning as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wahine808 Hotel Indigo Del Mar A Good Bet
Our first stay there made a good impression. The check in was efficient, friendly and welcoming. Our room was facing the ocean, and we could see over the neighborhood houses into the sea. The bathroom was very spacious, and the closet was a good size so we could actually use it. The beds are amazingly comfortable. I forgot to ask what kind they are.
We never took the opportunity to sit by the fire lounge at night, but it looked so inviting. We did sit at some tables on the second floor to have a snack and take in the ocean view. That was very nice.

It was a great stay. I love Del Mar. I actually drove 25 miles each way for my business meetings. The staff was great and the room was very comfortable.
