Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hannahd19 Don't stay here
Stayed here for two nights the end of July 2013. I was impressed upon driving up and at the entry; however, that quickly faded when I got to the elevators and noticed how banged up the paint was.
I should've left when I walked up to my room and had to wheel all my luggage around a refrigerator that was sitting in front of my door. Later, maintenance knocked on my door (the guy had a cup hanging out his mouth when I opened the door, which he proceeded to leave in my room when he left) and apparently they were trying to deliver the refrigerator for some chocolate that my parents had sent me. The back of the fridge was hanging off - when you open the door the whole thing falls forward.
My room was nice with wood floors, some fun colors, and TV, but the maintenance department is awful. The walls were banged up everywhere, bad calking jobs, all of the lampshades had water stains, the A/C doesn't run like it should (it's either hot or cold - no happy medium), the water takes forever to heat up. I would turn the shower on for at least 3-4 minutes before every shower.
I will be posting pictures of all of this very soon.
JUST DON'T STAY HERE! Don't let the shiny look fool you - it's nasty! I am a woman and could see the disrepair this place was in.

I have never stayed at a hotel Indigo before and this was an amazing first for myself and my family. We loved the spacious rooms and welcoming staff. The beds were extremely comfortable and the overall look of the hotel was remarkable. Whenever we travel now this will be a hotel of choice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shinesy Did not disappoint!
Having stayed at the Hotel Indigo in Asheville for double the price of this one, I was a little worried about what I'd get for such a low rate. Know what I got? The same levels of friendliness, cleanliness, and comfort. Hotel Indigo is definitely my favorite of the IHG hotel brands (wish they were in every city...get on it!), but all IHG hotels are reliable and I won't stay anywhere else.

I enjoyed my recent stay at Hotel Indigo. I was impressed by the spaciousness of the room and the bathroom. There was plenty of room for 2 double beds, a desk area, and a sitting area to read a book. I loved, loved, loved, the walk-in shower.
I found the blue/green color scheme to be soothing and restful.

Spouse & I flew in on a late flight. Shuttle driver was very courteous and informative. Was greeted at front desk with warm hospitality. This hotel had a full bar and resturant on site which was a life saver being that it was close to midnight. We still was able to get something to eat and the Kitchen Crew and waitress was very very accomadating. Sharnay, I believe was the waitress name. Loved her!! The spa like atmosphere drew you in and you were relaxing before you even got to the room. The room...OMG check out needs to be extended. It was so hard turning the comfortable mattress and serene atmosphere a loose sigh.... I need a Hotel Indigo in Memphis TN just for "Staycations" :)
I thought the continental breakfast was a little pricey. But the overall stay was super!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Laws1 Wonderful Location, Great Stay
I was in Duham for a conferance and opted to use an IHG hotel to gain points. The hotel was less than a mile from the conferance center and I have to say that this location BLEW away the competition. My director needed a place to stay as well, and I suggested the Hotel Indigo. I think that it was a wise career move, as he was equally impressed with the comfort and location of the facility. The staff was friendly, the hotel was well laid out, and the rooms were clean and stylish. I will certainly consider staying here again if I am in the area again. If you are looking for a location that is near the interstate, food and easily accessible routes then consider this location. The only down side, and unfortunately I have seen this throughout many IHG (at least this is my experiance) is that they do not recognize priority club members. Not sure how to remedy this, even as a platinum member, guess I will have to wait for corperate to make some changes. Oh well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by shuster2009 Love this hotel
We have stayed at hotel Indigo's elsewhere and twice, so far, at this particular hotel (we already have another reservation in a couple of weeks). Our experiences have been very positive. After reading other reviews, I felt compelled to write my own. Unless each room have totally different mattresses and showers, I can't imagine how someone can say that these rooms are uncomfortable and the shower has no water pressure. We found the exact opposite. Hotel staff upon our arrival has been very friendly and professional. Welcomes us as Priority Club members. Our rooms have been clean and comfortable. We think the bed is extremely comfortable and the shower outstanding for a hotel. Toiletries are a nice quality. I would say our only disappointment was the restaurant. We booked a package that included breakfast and although the food was very good...once we got it, the staff seems totally bewildered at waiting on tables and we were left sitting for an unacceptable amount of time waiting to be acknowledged and then a very long time before our food was served. If the restaurant was busy, it could be overlooked, but we were basically alone with only one other table occupied. Our first morning, the waiter had no idea what the breakfast coupon was and we had to explain it to him.

My friends and I were very impressed with the quality of this hotel. It was modern and felt more upscale than more traditional places we have stayed. We all commented on How the design made us feel that we were at the beach. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was very inviting.

The rooms reminded us of a small apartment. Very spacious, refreshing decor and overall pleasant atmosphere. The mattresses could be a little more comfortable. I am a fan of tempurpedic. However it was still an outstanding experience. We will certainly stay there again when we visit. Great job Hotel Indigo!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Travelbug34 Big decline since last stay...
While still a novel idea in lodging design, the RTP Hotel Indigo has declined greatly in the past few months. On our recent visit we found our room to be dirty (sand on the bedcovers, stains on pillow shams, mildew in the shower, and marks on the walls). Interestingly, there was a tissue balled up and stuffed in the door's peephole. We will not stay at this property again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dcdcdrc This Hotel is tired. terrible plumbing
I'm platinum member.
Last few times I've been at this hotel it's been steadily going down hill. on the higher floors there is little to no pressure for showers. (piddles out of the shower head#
Water for shower and shaving during last few visits has been cold. Little to no hot water. I even went as far as to run the hot water in the shower for 30 minutes before I tried to shower. VERY LITTLE effect. only warm water at best with full hot on.
Every time I've made mention to the desk, they act surprised... #we both know differently!!!# Finally after asking several questions to them they admitted that this time it is worse than normal and that their plumbers are working on it. #I heard this story last time I stayed as well#
The shower floors are slimy #probably because your staff don't have enough water to clean properly either#.
Shower floor corners and where the walls meet the floors are mildew...
Elevator floors and edges are filthy. ground in dirt where walls meet floors in the elevators. keep getting dirtier.
Stains in the seats of many of the office and sitting chairs in many of the rooms... Look like sweated or spilled into... and not cleaned.
The coffee cups in the room I was in were never replaced. the same cups were their the whole week. #i marked the bottom with pencil so I knew). my question is how did they wash them? what did they use?
There are several of my work collegues that used to stay at this hotel but we all agree to go elsewhere from now on. Not worth it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DnA9413 No hot water
I've stayed at this property a number of times when I have work at RTP. Each visit was very nice and I have not had any complaints, just compliments.
This visit was only fair as two of my three days at the hotel did not have hot water. Also, the staff at the restaurant in the morning were decidedly unfriendly. Restaurant staff in the evening were just as pleasant as ever, and the front desk staff was very nice as well.
Hopefully they fix the hot water problem and give the morning staff some refresher training on hospitality.
I recommend this hotel based on the sum of my experiences, hoping that this last visit was an aberration.

Second time staying at this Hotel Indigo location. The service was courteous and efficient. The room was clean and refreshing. The bathroom was well stocked with quality products. As with the first stay, the bed was extremely comfortable. We stay in this area several times a year, and will always stay here! Only one suggestion for improvement - we'd love to see a continental breakfast buffet available, or of not that, just a pastry/coffee buffet for a quick bite in the AM.

I stayed at this location the end of April and I was so pleased with everything. The staff was pleasant and the room was superb. I have stayed at the Indigo in San Diego and was pleased to know that this brand is consistent. The hotel has a contemporary feel. I am very particular about bathrooms where I stay and this was very inviting and refreshing. I enjoyed the Aveda products and the spa shower. I will always look for an Indigo wherever I visit. As for this location they get a perfect 10 from me, (and I am not easy to please)! :)

We stayed as priority club elite members and although we enjoyed our stay and luxury of the room, there was no recognition of being a priority club member. We stayed at Hotel Indigo once before in Sarasota and they treated us like family.
We stayed to celebrate our Anniversary, but when we told the front desk this they had no response. We travel all over the world always around this special day and this was the first time we had no acknowledgement.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great stay for people w/ Allergies!!
We stayed in the Raleigh, NC Hotel Indigo for my birthday weekend (February 16th) and it was just genuinely great, overall. The modern design was refreshing to see at a hotel, and the hardwood floors tipped the scales. My 3 year old has bad allergies and is allergic to dust, and because of this we do not travel often if we have to stay in a hotel. Becuase they Hotel Indigo had hardwood floors.. she had absolutely no problems during our stay! It was floor-licking clean. The beds were huge, and the most COMFORTABLE I've ever been in (even over my own bed!). In the future, we will ALWAYS stay at this hotel when in the Raleigh, NC area. I'm typically VERY critical and picky.. so if I'm pleased, it's a good thing. :O)
Kids absolutely loved it. My son slept like a baby, and my daughter loved all of the colors and "cool" feel to the room. They both felt all "high class" staying there, which was sweet to see. :)
The rooms were gorgeous, even better than the photos. The bathroom was very modern and the shower looked amazing as well. With that being said, the ONLY con (and I am hard to please..) is that the water pressure was pretty bad. To have such a great hotel, it saddened me to have a bad shower. :/ There is also no tub (which I was fine with).
Also, when I walked in.. the smell was wonderful. Some kind of flower? I'm not sure, but it was great. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk gave me water and gave me a candy bar choice for being a Priority Club member. That made my night! Great experience overall.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lenitra4 Comfortable bed
This hotel is very modern, loved the look. The swimming pool is TINY; my kids said the comfort of the beds made up for the small pool. I totally agree! A few downsides for me was there was no continental breakfast which is a MUST when you have children. Also, there was not refrigerator/microwave in our double queen size room. When we called to inquire we were told we would could request to have a refrigerator brought up to our room. A microwave wasn't an option. I am use to these things being a standard feature nowadays, I guess I will have to double check the next time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GrandmaTime Warm and Friendly
This is a very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and seemed to be very informative. The room was colorful and extremely clean. I must say that having wood floors in the room seemed to be inviting however, the idea of the furniture sliding around every time you bumped in to it was kind of a hassle. Placing furniture guards under the legs would solve that problem...hint hint.
I choose this hotel because it had an indoor pool but was rather disappointed when I saw the size of the pool and the fact that there was little or no place to sit while the kids enjoyed the pool. Also no drinks/food are allowed in to the pool area. There is no sign posted but after we packed lunch for the day the staff informed us of this. This limited our options for lunch since the idea of bring the kids in to the main lobby for lunch (all wet) did not seem like a good idea. While the hotel is very nice I would not say it is "kid friendly".

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JD222 Nice physical appointments but poor service
This hotel is very convenient for my work and I like the design of the rooms. It is a very comfortable place.
But the service, particular in the restaurant is very poor. I have stayed here often and each time the restaurant staff have been inattentive. No one has been rude, but service is slow and just not very thoughtful. It makes me feel unwelcome. I have switched to other equally convenient hotels in the area. I thought I would try the Indigo again, but it was the same experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bigdaddy1954 Comfortable spacious room. In Room dining not so good
The reception staff was very pleasant and the contemporary style of the hotel was well done. We had a suite and it was really well appointed and comfortable. Our only complaint would be the in room dining service. The breakfast we ordered was incomplete (no toast). Returned with toast but no butter or jelly. Staff then called to say they had no jelly sorry. Seems as though someone is not paying attention to the supplies and small details.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by travelnow Good hotel but horrible service
It all started with check-in. I booked 5 rooms for my sales team. The lady at the front desk had no clue. completely confused. took her a while to understand that people will be coming in at different times and to put rooms in their names. Usually as a platinum member an upgrade is done or some other thing. she said nothing to acknowledge or offer upgrade. I am not looking to be acknowledged but perks of staying more is upgrade etc. As a result checking out was a mess and I just realized that no points were posted to my account. really? I called HG and they quickly fixed it (Thank you-great service there). But this has put a bad taste in my mouth. Service at the bar was simply slow and horrible and mind you there were very few people there. breakfast service was equally slow and there were just 5 of us. Looked like these people have no hospitality experience and hate their jobs? I come to RTP a lot and I really like this hotel but not sure I will stay here.

Upon arrival with my wife, we were thanked (as most Holiday Inn Platinum are) for being platinum. We were then upgraded and the staff went above and beyond with their recommendations for dining, and making sure that we were happy with our stay.
One of the best experiences with Holiday Inn I have EVER had!
THANK YOU TO A GREAT STAFF.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by EuropeanTraveller Nice hotel. Staff is borderline scary
When I checked in after a late flight, I realized my allergies were flaring up and needed to visit the local 24-hour Walmart to purchase medication. I asked the gentleman at the front desk to assist me regarding how best to get to the nearest open Walmart. He informed me that it was about 2 miles away and when I suggested I'd simply use my GPS and walk it, he insisted, nearly demanded that I use a taxi. He informed me that the roads were all mud and I'd need to walk on unsafe, muddy surfaces. I agreed and he called me a taxi.
What arrived was a minivan in terrible shape with no markings. When I sat in the vehicle and told the driver where I'd like to go, he had no idea there was a Walmart nearby, when I provided him an address I acquired from the GPS, he had to go inside the hotel and ask what appeared to be his friend behind the counter. While waiting, I noticed that the steering column of the vehicle had been smashed open and the vehicle had no lock, but had instead been hot wired to start it. There was no meter and he could not provide a receipt. The price he charged was at least fair ($5) and he seemed polite. But I really was uncomfortable in this car. Especially since I fear it was stolen and I was carrying nearly $1000 in cash in my pocket at the time.
When I walked back, it was a highly pleasant walking experience on well paved and groomed side walks the entire trip and there was even a McDonalds along the way I used to purchase a drink so I could take my medicine.
I would recommend avoiding this hotel as it appears they do a poor job of screening their staff.
