Look up to spot the wealth of late 19th- and early 20th-century “Glasgow-style” architecture just outside our hotel by walking the City Centre Public Art Trail. A woman with a malting shovel stands tall at the United Distillers Building at 64 Waterloo St, while the massive red sandstone Mercantile Chambers (53 Bothwell St) is adorned with statues including Prosperity, Prudence, Industry and Fortune. Across the street, bas-relief carvings of cherubs, flora and fauna, Egyptians and turbaned figures decorate the 1901 Britannia Court building.
