Had a fantastic room with a great panoramic view of the Hudson River and Time Square. The room was large with a queen comfy bed and a chaise lounge too. Bathroom was modern and walk in shower. It was[More]
busy but that made the atmosphere. Right on Time Square close to loads of bars and restaurants and close to all major attractions. We have stayed here before and would definitely stay again. [Less]
My wife and I came to see the Texas Rangers and Yankees play baseball. It was easy to get a subway to Yankee stadium . And while we were in New York we wanted to see Times Square and Broadway shows[More]
and Rckefeller Center and The Empire State building and the Statue of Liberty. We rode the subway to battery park to get the Statue cruise . All the other things were in easy walking distance from the hotel. The housekeeping and the front desk and the breakfast crew were all great, friendly and helpful. We were not planning another trip to New York, but this was such a great experience we will probably be back and stay at the Holiday Inn Express 5th Avenue. [Less]
We split our visit between two hotels in NY, this one and the Crowne Plaza Times Square. We didn't know how far out we'd be from the action at this location but we needn't have worried, it within[More]
walking distance of all the attractions, and grand central station is on the doorstep.
The hotel has an old grand feel about it, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was good, the bathroom was a little cramped and dated but the bed was wonderfully large and comfortable. I think the hotel was closing shortly after our visit for refurbishment so maybe the bathrooms will be updated. We had a room on the 6th floor (one below the top) and we faced onto a busy street but heard minimal noise.
I do hope then they refurbish they don't take away the old charm of the place because it really is a little haven in a very busy city. [Less]
