Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptionally clean and comfortable with terrific service I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying here in the future! January 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Their breakfast is a joke! Very disappointing! I had paid more and booked a room rate that included breakfast instead of the cheaper advanced purchase rate. The "breakfast" you get with the breakfast rate is one cup of coffee or tea, a bagel or muffin and a piece of fruit. For everything else you are being charged extra. When complaining about this the manager on duty was not accommodating at all even to a Gold Priority Club Member. My recommendation - get the cheaper rate without breakfast or another place that knows what a breakfast is. January 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as it get's Our experience with Indigo started in Asheville, N.C.. It was great. This time we spent two nights both enroute and returning from Canada. It was great. Not real happy with the attached restaurant but the Indigo was as nice as any Hyatt, Hilton, etc. where we have stayed. We will check for an Indigo first in our future travels. January 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by convenient location does not live up to its reputation Our stay was fair. We chose this hotel solely for its location. It was expensive, did not offer breakfast and the interior design was horrendous. Never recommend it to anyone. December 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Among the best options in Albany OK I admit it. I have stayed in Hotel Indigo Latham over 40 times per year for the last 5 years. The experience is consistent, as graded above, so you know what you're getting. Among the plethora of hotel "headaches" I've suffered during my other 30 nights a year in hotels outside of Albany, e.g. cold water, dirt and grime, TV remote not working, lukewarm greeting upon check-in, I have NEVER experienced any of these at Hotel Indigo. The entire facility is smoke-free, so that's a huge plus for me. The lobby always smells nice. If you prefer a "homey" room, with hardwood floors and home-type bedding and a really nice mattress, you'll like this place. December 10, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Experience I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. No refrigeratror, no microwave, no complimentary water, no complimentary breakfast, noisy room due to highway traffic. When I checked in and asked questions about any of the issues noted above I was told no and nothing was offered to provide me any of the items that I requested. There was an attitude by the agent that they really didn't want my business and if I wanted anything I would be expected to pay extra for it. The room had a cold wooden floor and the walls had marks and damage everywhere. They seemed more interested in getting me to go to their restaurant and spend my money than trying to enhance my stay so that I would return. I will never stay at this property again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by beautiful room and friendly staff I highly recommend this property. Very clean hotel, maintained well, with lovely rooms, comfortable beds, nicely designed. Both evening and morning staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The Blue Stone is a great restaurant adjoining this property. Jerry November 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, as usual. This is not my first stay at the Hotel Indigo, in Latham, NY. Every time that I have stayed there, the service has been excellent. The rooms are clean and neat. Staff are all cordial and friendly. It is my hotel of choice when I am flying in or out of Albany Airport. I was accompanied by a friend, who marvelled at what a nice hotel it is! I didn't even realize I was a prioity club member, until the staff mentioned it! November 23, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over-priced for what you get, but it's all about location, location, location. Hotel is a renovation of an older hotel. Rooms are large, bathrooms are big. Maintenance and cleanliness was an issue. Lots of scrapes and scrateches on the walls. Closet doors aren't aligned properly so they wouldn't close. Wooden hangers were falling apart. Bed was comfortable but the sheets were loose and didn't fit properly. Hotel was quiet but that was because it was pretty empty that night. Aveda toiletries were a nice touch...surprising, actually, given the condition of the room. Not sure I liked the wood floors as they made the room echo a bit and feel slightly cold. Thermostat was responsive. Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again, but might try another Indigo in another city. October 13, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Indigo Review 1) Place is haunted. Jason and Grant (ok, maybe not Grant) need to put this place on their list. 2) Nice Bistro attached to hotel - a plus. Good food, good drink, good pricing. 3) They charge for breakfast, most other hotels comp this. If you want coffee (or anything else), your paying for it. 4) Very nice staff. October 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay We stayed at the Indigo for one night before heading up to Vermont and Maine. It is a very lovely hotel in every way. October 8, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bistro experience. I was very pleased with the hotel. It was clean, bright, and the beds were very comfortable. I would have liked a refrigerator for the week stay, but one was not offered because of the government rate my company booked us at. Unfortunately, we have a bad experience at the Blu Bistro restaurant. I politely asked a waiter (not ours) if he could check on our food because we had been waiting for a bit and the table next to us got their food before us, and got there at least twenty minutes after we ordered our food. Our waitress apologized and brought our food. The waiter that I spoke to earlier came up to our table and said "Guess it's not going to take an hour for you to EAT your food." I seriously could not believe it. The food was INCREDIBLE, but I lost my appetite after that comment. Our waitress was very courteous and handled the situation appropriately, but the other waiter was completely inappropriate. We will be spending another week at the hotel later this month, and will most likely not eat at the restaurant because of his rude remark October 4, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One Night Business Stay Reception staff were friendly and efficient upon my late evening arrival. Room/bed was comfortable. The Aveda bath products are satisfying. I-87 road noise is noticeable, so if possible get a room on the back side of the hotel building. October 2, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wheel Chair Accessible (and other stuff) We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room to accommodate my Wife's current disability. The room was quite large and provided plenty of room to be able to maneuver. The roll-in shower was a real blessing (she didn't have to climb over anything to get in) and a stool was provided so she could sit. The hallway light served very well as a nightlight (we forgot to bring one). Light enough (but not too bright) to allow one to get up in the night as necessary, but does not shine in the eyes of those who are in bed. The room is extremely quiet, in spite of the fact that I87 is just outside the front windows and across the local road. Another review I read mentioned excessive noise coming from the bistro nearby. We were close to the bistro and didn't hear a thing. The location is convenient to the interstate with an exit/entrance close by. I would definitely stay here again, and will if I visit the area for another overnight visit. BTW - I don't think this is mentioned anywhere - even on the website. Continental breakfast was available until 10:00 AM. September 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly service, comfortable with very good restaurant We had a pleasant stay. Try to get a room on the back side away from the highway. We were very pleasantly surprised by the dinner at the blu stone bistro. Initially lured in by the complimentary beverage coupon, we ended up staying for an excellent meal. September 1, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Disappointed I stayed in room 411. My room at this hotel had: 1.Large sections of the walls covered with marks, dirt, dents, and holes 2. Badly stained carpeting 3. Stained bed sheets 4. Cobwebs/spider webs 5. Electrical receptacles and light switches loose from the walls 6.Towel racks torn from the wall and hanging by a single half-holding screw 7. Paint peeling and missing from the walls 8. A shower curtain two feet too long hanging from a corroded, crooked curtain rod with the excess length laying in the plastic tub and covered with mildew 9. No fixed shower head but instead a broken, plastic hand-held shower covered in mold and with rusted metal hose 10. A pile of dirt and trash swept under the air conditioning unit. This place was absolutely disgusting and I am extremely disappointed that it was advertised as three stars and priced as a hight-end three-star. . I've stayed at budget type motel chains in the past and I can honestly, say that I have never come across such a horrific mess of a room as I did at Hotel Indigo Albany Latham. When we went down to the hotel desk to voice our concerns they did offer to "try and find a housekeeper" to look at the room. Unfortunately, a reconstruction crew was needed to bring the room up to habitable condition. I took photos and videos of the room and would be happy to provide them to anyone who finds my description difficult to believe.. August 27, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Room was ok but a tad tired. Air conditioner was noisy enough to keep me up all night. Requested new room with quieter cooling. Was moved by cooperative and friendly staff. Just as noisy in the next room. Hotel needs update in a couple of key areas heating/cooling being number one. Nice restaurant on premises. Overall ok place if you are not sensitive to clunks and roars through the night. August 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greate service and extra comfortable room for the last 40 years I've been going to Saratoga area for horse racing. 40 years at an average of 20 to 25 nights sleeping . so I have tried many different hotels. I can say for sure this is the best experience I lived if we are considering service, friendliness, making you believe you are an important person. we are getting more for the price, good size rooms.very clean the staff is exceptional, always asking is everyting ok, can I help always smiling July 31, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tired Property The Indigo brand has a reputation of being an upscale property, Latham completely departs from that reputation. The property is getting older and it appears that hotel management doesn't care to keep things it tip-top shape. You notice the things that have fallen apart over the years. The e-machines in the business center date the property and it appears that nothing has been done to keep the place 'nice' in the 12 years or so that its been running. Significant disapointment considering the brands reputation. July 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite Hotel I really like this hotel. The wood floors are wonderful - no walking on questionable carpeting. The bathrooms are modern and the shampoos and soap are of high quality (Aveda). Staff is accomodating and the computer area is clean and well equiped. There are places to eat, shop, bank, etc. within a short distance (1-2 miles) and it wasn't too hard to find places to run outside. July 23, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worth trying! Five of us occupied three rooms at this hotel and we were all pleased with our stay. There is no continental breakfast but there are lots of breakfast options nearby. They have a nice fitness center but no pool. The location is very convenient to the airport, major roads, shopping, dining, and activities. If you like to run or walk, look for The Crossings neighborhood park about a mile from the hotel. We found the staff to be terrific. The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel definitely has a business orientation with common areas and a conference room. There were lots of power outlets in the rooms but some weren't usable. The internet service is standard hotel fare - works but nothing to get excited about. Our room had an especially noisy air conditioner but it worked fine. There is a lounge next door which seems quite nice. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend the hotel highly. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room This was my first stay at Hotel Indigo. I thought the room was very nice. Everything was very clean and the decor was trendy. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, and the parking lot lights were very bright at night (no curtains in the room). The Aveda care products are nice but a more normal fragrance would be so much better. The staff was very nice, especially the man running the breakfast bar. July 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent! Hotel staff remembered I was expecting a FEDEX package. They recognized me and went to retrieve my package as I approached the front desk. Contemporary, comfortable and immaculate. All staff I encountered were friendly, customer experience excellence oriented. Great find! July 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, confortable, upscale feeling! My family and I stayed at the Albany/Latham Hotel Indigo to meet before we drove the rest of the way to New Hampshire for a vacation. I wish we could have stayed there for all of our vacation! The Hotel is upscale feeling with modern design and decor. Each room is high end giving you more of a great bedroom feel- not the canned hotel feeling. The restaurant was excellent and very accomodating for our children and another guest that joined us later in the meal. Also upscale feeling without being too stuffy and formal. July 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Stylish and Delicious We stayed here (first overnight stay at this Hotel Indigo) due to its proximity to the airport --- three minutes door to door with complimentary shuttle. and were very pleased with the staff at check in, the room was very stylish and immaculate. Also a plus: the excellent chic restaurant and bar that is attached! July 9, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overpriced for the hotel No hot water....great way to start the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! July 2, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff These folks went out of their way to satisfy all of our requests...traveling with my mother in law, daughter, wife...lot's of requests. Rooms met the clean police req'ts and beds were great (Wife checked the label to see if we can get the mattress for our home). Hard wood floors were unusual for a hotel room we thought but once again the cleanliness factor made the gang feel good. June 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay I used the airport shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. It was quick and efficient. The hotel accommodations were clean and very comfortable. For a fee, there are breakfast items available. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel, especially if you need quick excess to and from the airport. June 7, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Keep coming back Is it the cleanliness or the hardwood floors or maybe that this chain understands comfort ? (like not making all the pillows the same size!) Well something keeps me coming back again and again. June 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshing Change Pleasant staff, good weekend rate and modern, light decor in the room make for a nice change from the standard IHG hotels I often frequent. The restaurant was quite good for a hotel captive, non guest even braved heavy rains to dine there on a Saturday. Breakfast is a little weak in the hotel lobby though. June 6, 2012
