Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Romantic Getaway! This hotel stay was great! This was our first time in New Orleans so we had to rely on the reviews of other customers. We were amazed at the reviews for this hotel so we decided to stay. Everything was just as good as stated. The room was spacious and clean and the room service was great as well. We casually mentioned to the manager at check in that we were celebrating our anniversary and the next day when we returned to our room, there was a cold bottle of champagne there along with a card congratulating us on our anniversary celebration. Everyone was really helpful and very nice. We drove to New Orleans from Atlanta so we had to use valet parking. The trolley was directly in front of the hotel so we only had to use our vehicle when we were leaving. This is a great hotel for anyone just looking to getaway and enjoy themselves. We are already planning our next stay! July 4, 2013

We chose this hotel because our son was getting married at Eiffel Society just across the street and we wanted a convenient place to get ready and within walking distance. I have a bad back and I wake up everyday with aches and pains. After sleeping 1 night at Hotel Indigo New Orleans I woke up with no pain and I felt super refreshed. The rooms were VERY NICE & VERY CLEAN and up to date. Large beautiful bathroom with walk in shower custom tiled. I noticed this because my husband is a tile man. I would highly recommend this place. Staff were all very helpful, curtious, & attentive. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. June 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will Stay Here Again I've stayed in New Orleans many times, but never in the Garden District. Will definitely be back to explore Magazine Street more. We traveled mostly by trolley and it was very convenient since the hotel is right on the trolley line and we took a cab from Frenchmen Street late one night that was inexpensive. Be aware that there's no self parking if you're driving, just valet and street parking. Not a big deal to us, but something to know before you go. June 7, 2013

Limited street parking, so we had valet 2 of the three nights we were there. There is a streetcar pickup/drop off in front of the hotel that drops off right at Bourbon for only $1.25 each way. The staff was wonderful and our room was amazing. The French Quarter was just a short trolley ride away, so if you are going to Bourbon St. dont let the distance affect your decision. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples looking for a modern, quiet, and comfortable place to stay in NOLA. May 28, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel - needs a little staff development Nicely redone hotel and good facilities. Front desk is efficient but little in way of ideas for food and fun nearby. When asked they seem to draw a blank. Also offering a piece of chocolate from a jar for Platinums is the worst I've seen. As an example I stayed at Morgan City Holiday Inn this week and was given water bottles, snacks at a special Elite desk. Also they had a house Yorkie sitting at the desk for guests to pet! This hotel is just waiting to be really good - the people are all nice - management needs to spend time with guests to understand what they'd like in the way of service. That'll move them up the ratings and make the most of this nice setting. May 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by modern decorations and comfortable This was our first time at this hotel - or at any Hotel Indigo. We Loved It!!! It was so modern and beautiful! The staff was great. We were only there one night, so we didn't really require a lot of service - but all employees were very kind and nice. There were cute fishes on the counter when you check in - hotel ambassadors, according to their business card. :) The accommodations were outstanding! I loved the modern look to the room. It was very spacious and seemed much larger than most hotel rooms. We loved the decor and the colors. The bathroom was wonderful - So beautiful and sleek. Nice bath products too. We really loved this room very much! I wish my room at home was like this! The lobby was pleasant as well with lots of nice seating areas. We enjoyed sitting out on the courtyard area, in the front of the hotel, watching people and trolleys go by. There was a nice water feature in that courtyard as well, that made relaxing there even easier. The location was good - seemed easy to get to and there were some restaurants, etc within walking distance. The rate was better here than nearer the French Quarter. The trolley stopped directly in front of the hotel so that was convenient if anyone wanted to use that transportation. I would most definitely return to this hotel again! May 21, 2013

Hotel is new (opened Dec, 2012), room are large and extremely comfortable. We requested and got a room which faced the back, away from St Charles or Jackson Aves. It was extremely quiet even though we would on the 5th floor. Staff was extremely friendly. May 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Culture in Action After reading reviews I decided to book a stay with Hotel Indigo for our honeymoon. The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood just blocks away from one of the best places to eat and shop, Magazine Street. There is transportation to the French Quarter via the Trolley at basically the front door of the hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and I even got a touch of home with a young lady that was allowed to bring her puppy for a few days. It was delightful to see such a animal friendly place as well. The rooms are VERY spacious and I LOVED the bathrooms. There was also a blonde headed guy that worked at the Valet that was amazing and was awesome at his job! I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Looking for nightlife in the Garden District...Magazine street just a few blocks east has many great restaurants and pubs....or take a quaint 10 minute trolley ride to the French Quarter. We have stayed in another Indigo and loved it so we chose Indigo again. The hotel was modern and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. During our stay, New Orleans was in the midst of the French Quarter Fest - an extremely popular & crowded annual event. There were several FQF guests staying in the hotel. Our room was quite large, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful & also very large. The rooms must be well insulated because we didn't hear one person out in the hallway, no doors slamming, no one's TV. The streetcar stop is right out front so public transportation either to the universities or French Quarter is convenient. The front desk staff and housekeeping were top notch professionals but also friendly and helpful. We will be certain to return for future trips and would highly recommend this hotel. April 21, 2013

We choose the Hotel Indigo because it is conveniently located in the Garden District, a 10 minute drive to the University or a short trolley ride. The trolley stopped right outside the hotel and right in front of campus. In addition, we took the trolley down to the French Quarter, which was also an easy ride door to door. Due to some major airline delays we arrived at the Hotel Indigo at 2:00 a.m. but we were cheerfully greeted by the valet and concierge. Our room was a corner room with two doubles on the 8th floor with a great view. We loved the bathroom, one of the nicest I have seen in a hotel. The beds were incredibly comfortable and cozy-we all slept very well the four nights we were there. We had our car in and out with valet parking several times a day and never had to wait more than five minutes after letting them know we needed the car. Checking in and out was a breeze, and the entire staff could not have been any more friendly and accommodating. Everything in the hotel was clean and in great shape. I highly recommend Hotel Indigo and will definitely stay there next time I am in New Orleans! April 21, 2013

Cons: valet parking and cleaning - not very efficient (ie car not there after you've called down for it 20 min. before). I ended up parking more often on the street - much easier. As for cleaning, there were large dust balls by the chair when I checked in - kind of dirt that should not have been there and was easy to see - I asked housekeeping to clean but it wasn' t done and had to ask again. Other than that, I'd highly recommend it to someone who does not want to be in the Quarter. April 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Some Good Things, Other Things Not So Good Wife and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo five nights in April 2013. The property is almost new, and very nice. There is a streetcar stop on the St. Charles Ave. Line across the street from the hotel; it is a $1.25, 20 minute ride (usually) to the intersection of Canal and Bourbon Streets. Close to the French Quarter, but without the all-night noise of the French Quarter. The young lady who helped us at check-in, Alexandra, was very friendly, helpful and professional. She thanked me for being a Priority Club Platinum Member, and gave us some very good chocolates at check-in. Our room was very nice; big and quiet, with a big bathroom and very comfortable bed. They furnished us a small refrigerator for the room at no cost. We also had some problems during our stay. The floors in our room were not cleaned after our first three nights in the room; when we returned to our room on the fourth day; the room had not been cleaned at all. Strange, but the housekeeper didn't forget to take the tip money that we left on the bed for her, she just forgot to clean the room and make the bed. I complained to IHG via their website, and I received an email from them that the manager was going to contact me directly about the problems that we had. It's now a week later, and I am still waiting to hear from the property manager. Bottom line? Nice property, with some management problems. The housekeeping staff is marginal at best, and it is obvious that no one is checking up on the housekeepers. Again, this is a management problem. This could be an outstanding property, if they could fix the housekeeping/management issues. April 12, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by great location and friendly staff but they need more...... We enjoyed our stay at your new, very clean and friendly hotel but I did have several comments to share. The staff was very helpful and friendly but they did not know the city or neighborhood. They could not even recommend a local spot for cajun food! You need to have menus, and experienced NOLA locals to make great recommendations for the guests. You should have the local paper available. The room does not have a refrigerator? They said they could bring one in but I don't know why it is not in the room already? I would definitely recommend the hotel to others but you do need to improve the service. April 11, 2013

We splurged on room service and the food was tasty but extremely is all room service. The best part was the staff. There were a few misses....*We had to get house keeping to vaccume our room because there were toe nail clippings on the rug. The only free parking was on the street, however there is a large parking lot behind the hotel reserved for Valet. It did not make sense because we were there during the week and I didnt see more than 4 cars in the lot (employee vehicles) at any time. April 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel and location This hotel is beautiful and the room was incredible. We had a king executive suite and it was such a nice room. We were upgraded at check-in by the front desk girl, for being a platinum member, and it was a very nice surprise and a very nice room with plenty of space for an extended stay. The hotel is in a very nice location to be only a few minutes from everything- French Quarter, Magazine St, Garden District shopping and touring, everything. The valets were every prompt and courteous. Housekeeping cleaned our room the first day beyond my expectations. The second day, however, they did not even clean our room at all! I was very surprised, especially since I had left them a nice tip the day before. I had to go to the front desk for towels and coffee! To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We checked out the next day, so there was no chance for them to redeem themselves. Of course, there was no apology or compensation. And the only reward for being a Platinum member is a small piece of chocolate. March 31, 2013
