Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stayed for Business Stayed for Business. The hotel is your typical HI with the NYC flair that New Yorkers at their best are known for. While in downtown Manhattan; you are in the Pulse of the Apple. Walking distance from42nd Street. So many restaurants, bars, eateries and sites. The location is amazing. The only down fall as Day one it took the Bartender 45 minutes to bring in an order of Nachos and an egg salad sandwich. While delicious. 45 minutes for an egg salad sandwich is silly. Though they did redeem themselves two nights later. A salute to the manager. Our travel agency double booked our rooms and the Manger allowed us to cancel on the spot without charge. How cool is that. All the staff was awesome 02 December 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed The Staff, just plan time for the elevators Stayed at this hotel before. The staff is very friendly and the room is small but spotless. The only issue is the elevators. You have to allow yourself more time to leave the hotel because of the wait of the elevators. There seems to be no rhyme or reason on how they decide to go up or down. For example, I stayed on the 23rd floor. (Great View!). I pressed the down button and noticed both elevators were going down already. They both went to the Lobby level and one proceeded to the basement. Elevator #1 started up and stopped at 11 and 14 and then went down. Why did it not come to 23? The second elevator went up and made a few stops and got to 19 and then went down. Again, why not come up to 23? The first elevator then came back up and finally I was able to leave. This all took over ten minutes wait time. Other guests noticed the same thing and it was a conversation point in the elevator when you finally were able to get on one. 02 December 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location. Skip the Restaurant. I stayed here on a 10 day business trip. I went to the restaurant, mostly out of convenience, several times. Each time I noticed the staff was chatting among themselves while I waited with my menu on the table. One time the server was taking shots with her friends while I waited a the next table for 15 minutes. She only had 3 tables to serve at that time. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Shortest King Bed on the planet! I stay at a fair number of ICH hotels, but have never found one with a king size bed that wasn't as long as a standard queen! Being 6'2", I found this quite uncomfortable. This was also the smallest hotel room I've ever been in, ergo the short bed. You had to engage in some gymnastic exercises in order to close the bathroom door while in it. When my other half pulled back the covers on our first night and found a long brunette hair on the bottom sheet, she was very dismayed! All that being said, the view of the Empire State Building from the 21st floor was breath taking! the front desk staff was top notch, professional and friendly. The restaurant was good (we only had one breakfast) and efficient. 30 November 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay in Manhattan My family and I chose this hotel because of its cost and proximity to Macy's. We stayed overnight to attend the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. We were greeted by a friendly front desk. Being a Priority Club member, the front desk upgraded us so our room had a great view of the Empire State Building. The room was small yet well appointed, clean, quiet and comfortable. The mattress was very nice - not too firm, not too soft. The pillows were a little to soft for my taste. We had some trouble with the TV. In no time at all, a technician was at our door and remedied the problem. We had breakfast in the dining area which was clean, well staffed, reasonably priced and the food wasn't bad either. One drawback was security. I didn't notice any.. No one was watching the elevators. A key or card isn't required so anyone could get on the elevators to any floor. Not the hotels fault but the neighborhood looked a little sketchy but the hotel did due diligence with a well lit and presentable entrance. Overall, I'd recommend this Holiday Inn to budget minded travelers to NY City. 30 November 2014

Thanks for being so kind and considerate to a wary traveler who has not drove into the city before. Conveniently located to everything. Even had the sunshine pouring in my room which makes me very happy. One of the best mattresses I have ever slept on. 28 November 2014

Mold in our shower, and room smelled musty. I am IHG Platium Elite, I stay In hotels a lot, worse I have been in. The only saving grace, I used reward points and didn't "pay" for this room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Fun Four Days in NYC We were greeted by a great doorman - Cesar and commenced a very enjoyable stay. Rooms are tight but after all its NY. Friendliness throughout the stay was genuine. Located in Chelsea, the location was convenient with longest taxi ride being less than $20.00 to everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel facilitated parking which was fairly priced and accommodated storage of our luggage on the last day - granted it took a little while to retrieve it and this was the only handicap. Cesar also recommended great places for breakfast and the hotel concierge team was informative and fair in recommending best ways to take in NY. We are glad we chose this hotel. 24 November 2014

Room was pokey, only a shower, window staring at a brick wall, quite noisy, thin walls. Very expensive for what you get. Bar staff good, reception OK but the general ambience was pretty mediocre. Dreadful fitness room. Holiday Inn Express round the corner might be a better bet if IHG is a must. Good location. 20 November 2014

Great location to subway, restaurants, bars and shopping. Staff was great - exchanged our king bed for 2 doubles without a problem. Storing luggage before and after checkin - again no problem. Room is on the small side and might be an issue if you are staying for a week. I would definitely stay again. 19 November 2014

I was charged more than double then what the Web site said it will be (even with the discount) and then when I drove to the hotel to pickup my family we found out that the passenger's door was damaged because of what looks like a scratch agains a wall. :C 18 November 2014

Front desk staff was super attentive and so was bell staff. I would stay here again, even though I didn't book this myself and it was part of a larger group meeting. But I liked it and was able to get a different room when the one I checked into had a small problem. Close to everything and lots of great stuff within walking distance. Don't know if it was intentional, but all doors should have pressure stoppers to avoid doors from slamming. Also, why have the on-demand option and not even offer it?
