Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Michel1957 2 Queen bed room too small but overall a great hotel
I like this hotel, I normally book a king size executive room which are very nice. This time only a 2 queen beds room were available when I booked. The room was clean and served it's general purpose. My only problem is that it is a 1 queen bed room with an additional bed. The room is so packed that you can't even sit at the desk.
So if you like to have a bit of space in a room do not book this room type. It is definitely too small. I, for one, will never book this room type at this hotel again.
That being said I still love this hotel for it's location, cleanliness and staff. :)

Although the staff were pleasant the room was internally noisy, loose nuts and bolts who knows what, but aggravating. Also, for a hotel located in the business area of a national capital the lack of simple amenities such as coffee and tea in the general area and no newspaper is "uncompetitive". Also, on two occasions the cable service was down. wanting to relax by watching the Stanley Cup games at the end of the day this was annoying. We were in Canada for God's sake! No hockey game on TV is unforgivable.

I was able to enjoy myself in Ottawa's downtown with this fantastic hotel. Got to sleep without ear plugs for the first time in years.

The Hotel Indigo is a beautiful looking hotel in an outstanding location. The front lobby is modern and well appointed and the staff are friendly and helpful.
However, having said that, parking is extremely inconvenient. You have to park around the corner and under a competitor's hotel (who shares the parking with Hotel Indigo). Once your car is parked, you actually have to go through the other hotel to get to the Hotel Indigo's lobby.
Although the room looked good on the surface, it had problems. The thermostat was hidden behind the TV. When it was found, its location meant that without a flashlight, it was too dark to read the temperature.
Finally, the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. In the two nights I was there, I did nt sleep well either night.
If you are visiting Ottawa, and location is your primary concern, then this may be the hotel for you. If you have other reasons for visiting Ottawa, then it might not be.

Lobby was a bit outdated, but was very pleased with my room and ability for hotel to provide an early check in. I was annoyed, however, that there was a message on my phone from the front desk that i was forced to check as it was illuminating my entire room as i tried to go to sleep. The message said it was someone from the front desk who had checked me in, but in fact, it was not that person who checked me in. Just a bit of feedback that if you're looking to make your guests feel special, don't mix them up with other guests!
Overall, very comfortable stay and i would stay at this location again.

The room was excellently furnished and although an inside view of hotel lobby, I did not miss outside views because of my schedule. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is walking distance to the Rideau Mall, which is wonderful for shopping. Meeting rooms were great, but would have liked more outside windows. Overall experience is that I would recommend Indigo for visitors to Ottawa.
