Some hotels have great write ups and prove to be so awful, you can't believe it - but this hotel really is as enjoyable as a normal person could possibly want. If you were royalty, you might expect more, but even then you'd likely be pleased. Tasteful, clean, nice large bathrooms and a staff that really knows what it's doing. I also had a booking issue with the general reservation line that the local manager got involved with and cleared up nicely. Based on the online website, the way reservations are made, I was expecting something awful - and was very pleasantly surprised. Suggestion: book with the hotle directly and be sure they provide all the details regarding prices and cancellation policy as it relates to your particular reservation. For some reservations, they'll charge you the cost of the room, even if you cancel a week in advance - a fact that's easy to miss on the general Indigo webstie, especially if your text is set to large - so be careful. Easy walking distance to anything you might want in the way of food and entertainment. I had a great view of the Padres stadium from my room as well. It was very quiet and intimate and I would recommend it to anyone. December 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice staff, nice hotel, nice location... The Hotel Indigo San Diego Gaslamp has great staff. They were very friendly and helpful during check in over Thanksgiving holiday. The room on the 11th floor had great views of the Sunrise, San Diego skyline, Petco park, and the ocean between buildings. Centrally located with lots of bars and restaurants nearby, yet on a quiet corner that minimizes outside noise. Outdoor bar on the 9th floor provided a nice location to enjoy the skyline views, and glow of the city. Thanks for a great stay. Will definitely return and stay there. December 15, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by noisy disturbed sleepless nights I come to San Diego twice a year on business. This year my business meetings were on the weekend. I booked three nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Friday night I was on the 8th floor and some of the other rooms were occupied by people who were clearly in a party mood. Much movement between rooms throughout the night. The locking mechanisms on the doors are loud and the doors slam shut. That night doors were slamming shut about every 30 seconds until 2 AM with people coming down the hall talking loudly. The rooms are poorly insulated for sound (could hear the TV in the next room as well as the sounds of romance from an adjacent room). I requested a change of rooms for Saturday night. Saturday night things were going fairly well until 3 AM when loud voices and music started coming from the adjacent room. I called the desk and they said the people in that room had just ordered in a pizza and were having people in. That went on for quite a while. Sunday night was fairly quiet except for being awakened intermittently by noise in the halls. I like some features of this hotel but I also like to sleep when I'm on business or on vacation. Therefore I do not plan to stay at this hotel again unless they figure out how to quiet down the room door closing / locking mechanisms and install better sound insulation in the rooms and/or the hallways. Hallway noise and poor sound insulation is the problem. The hotel needs to address that. December 11, 2014

The bed was comfortable, linens were great and the bathroom well appointed. We were very pleased with our first stay in San Diego and would come back again. December 11, 2014
