Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow I attended some meetings scheduled at this property and my reservation was made for me. They didn't have my IHG number so I wasn't expecting much at check in and it so happened that they didn't have any rooms available at 3:15pm during the afternoon break. I said no problem, they could call me when a room was available, but Juan (I think) kept looking and said since I was a preferred guest I can give you an upgrade. I got the terrace suit and all I can say is wow. I didn't expect that on a group rate, and it was fantastic. All I can say is thanks to Juan (I really hope that was who checked me in) because of you I will bring my family back to this property. By the way, it was my first stay at an Indigo and I really liked the concept. The whole hotel was warm and inviting - it was a nice change from the standard CP's, HI or HIE. September 2, 2013

I can not say enough from the desk, housekeepers, bar tenders to the GM each made my stay not only one to write about but one to share to the world. Area was overall good, although some parts near the neighborhood where the hotel was located was not too appealing, but overall a good experience. I loved the hotel location, close enough to the convention center yet not noisy. We didn't get to bring our dog but we really enjoyed the dogs that were there belonging to other guests. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Air conditioner didn't work and restaurant was substandard The air conditioner was blowing room temperature air even when set at 68 degrees. Temperature in the room never went below 73. Luckily it was cool outside so we didn't really need it. I reported the problem to the front desk immediately and was told that engineering would take care of it. It was never fixed and never worked during our 3 day stay. The coffee service had one of each item - coffee, decaf, tea and herbal tea. Very odd, I've never seen in-room coffee service that didn't have 2 servings of coffee. I had to go to the front desk everyday to get an additional serving of coffee. Service at breakfast in the restaurant was not very good and the food was not very good, very disappointing based on our previous experience with Indigo. 9th floor deck lounge was one of the only amenities offered at this Indigo yet it was closed for a private party on our first night. I'm ok with the lounge being used for a private party, but not closing it to paying guests. The room itself was disappointing compared to other Indigos we've stayed at, nothing special, pretty bland. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay We were looking for a quaint place to stay, something out of the ordinary, close to the Gaslamp District, and the Hotel Indigo was the perfect place. One wouldn't even know that it's pet-friendly as there was no smell! The staff was super friendly, very professional and helpful in recommending a great place for breakfast (Zanzibar Cafe). It's also super close to PetCo Park, which I think's just around the corner. We plan on going back again with our 2 babies (dogs) when the SD Padres play. Super great Bloody Marys as well. :-) August 16, 2013

I appreciate when hotels leave extra soap and shampoo, however on two occasions, i returned to my room to find both bars of soap discarded and new ones in its place. I consider this to be a huge waste of valuable resources for a hotel. I sincerely hope my housekeeper needed retraining and this wasn't the hotel's practice for stayover guests. August 13, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Perfect place to stay in SD! Flew in with my friends to catch the Padres-Yankees game and boy is this the perfect hotel for that! Plus, excellent gas lamp location, friendly staff, and clean, modern rooms make this place a no-brainer. They allow pets but I never even noticed any additional noise so don't let that scare you off. I'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. August 8, 2013

I got to take my dog with me everywhere I went, the restaurant, bar and their rooftop bar/lounge. The staff was wonderful, valet was my favorite! Yes it is pricey to valet your car, but you can come and go as much as you want and your car is kept in a garage. The valet staff were extremely helpful and nice! I loved the set up in my room. It was very cute and spacious, the view was phenomenal. They have a rooftop that has an area to take your dog to go potty, which was very clean! There's a bar/lounge up there that had heaters and fire pits to sit around. Overall this place is spectacular! I would have to say the walls are a little thin in the rooms and the food is way over priced for the quality you receive, but that won't be keeping me from coming back, I will be coming back for sure:) August 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Conundrum. I really wanted to love Hotel Indigo. Come on, what could be better than a dog friendly LEED certified boutique hotel in the heart of San Diego's Gas Lamp District. Beautiful, spacious, clean suite with a breathtaking view of Petco Park. Unfortunately, the bed and furniture must have been selected for their visual looks with little thought about comfort. Great bar with a cool view, but food at the restaurant was corporate bland and completely missed the local flavor and boutique image they are striving for. And why can't I get a paper without being a rewards club member? At this level it should be automatic. August 5, 2013

The rooms were wonderful and spacious and the staff was very accommodating of all my needs as a bride to be. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any one. August 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing to get excited about.... The Hotel Indigo was very nice looking modern hotel but lacked a few of my needs. We were in San Diego for business/pleasure and felt the facility was very loud. Anytime the doors from the other rooms shut or the cleaning workers came by you could hear loud comotion. The bathroom had an odd smell to it. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was the fitness center. I found out after dressed and ready to exercise that it was closed but forn $20 I could go a few blocks away and use a gym. I will say the room and staff were nice. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dogs/Non-Smoking I have to say it amazes me that you do not have a smoking level ie 9th floor bar, yet you'll let dogs run all around the hotel to include the eating area. I was at the hotel on July 25-27th and so was the world of dogs. I tripped over two trying to get on the elevator, and was eating downstairs having dogs all around me, sniffing at my legs and eyes hopelessly waiting for me to drop food on the floor, yet I can't smoke within 25 feet of your doors? Don't get me wrong, I own a dog, but I eat and smoke at my table without my dog next to me. Hmmmmmmmmmm something for me to ponder before I make my next reservation. August 1, 2013

I stay at hotels on an average of 1-2 weeks a month. My company's headquarters are located in San Diego and therefore I travel back to San Diego 2-4 times a year and stay in hotels 1-2 weeks each trip. I normally stay around Kearny Mesa in order to keep corporate costs low but this time around a colleague of mine recommended I stay at the Hotel Indigo in the San Diego Gas lamp district since the corp rate is rather affordable. I decided to make the reservation if they honored our corporate rate. Once I arrived the hotel staff was extremely polite and accommodating. The front desk was specifically very helpful and welcomed me as a Platinum member. They put me in a great room with a spectacular view and made my two-week stay at this property memorable and truly made me feel at home. One front desk staff member in particular went out of her way to make sure my stay was excellent. Her name is Ellen and she went out of her way to recognize my commitment to the intercontinental hotel brand, made sure my accommodations were above par, and checked up on me to make sure my stay was going well whenever she saw me. I will stay at this hotel property on my next business trip in November and I will recommend this property to all my fellow colleagues who travel to our San Diego headquarters on business. This experience also strengthened my loyalty to the IHG/ Priority club chain. Thank You July 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Class Hotel The Indigo will perfectly placed in the East Village. Close to great food and nightlife. The staff was superb during my 5 day stay. In fact, they made an effort to know you and call you by name. Nice touch. Rooms were contemporary and very comfortable. Valet service was great as I had to go in and out numerous times during my stay. Friends were at another location and had to wait enormous time to get their vehicle. Truly outstanding!!! Don PS Will be my place of choice in San Diego in the future July 26, 2013

Our 11th floor room overlooking Petco Park was amazing. The 9th floor bar was a perfect place to unwind in the evening. Very convienent to the ballpark and Gas Light district. Bed was amazingly comfortable and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back. July 19, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by POOR EXPERIENCE Booked a one night advance purchase with breakfast stay for two people. On arrival, only issued with a voucher for $20.00 for breakfast and it’s impossible at the rate they charge in the restaurant to have breakfast for two people for this value. Complained and subsequently agreed that the voucher would be increased to $35.00, but was advised that I needed to note in future that the vouchers were only for $20.00. No, the hotel website and booking system needs to indicate that any booking includes a breakfast for breakfast up to the value of $20.00. Hotel problem, not customer’s. Given nice corner room, but layout of room in some cases impractical. Extremely upsetting for an architect to find issues like power points etc. had not been considered in correct locations. One spare power point near desk, but two double power points near entry door. Maybe desk could be moved in front of entry door. Large armchair between window and bed, but armchair so big that the gap between armchair and bed is less than one foot. Impractical getting up at night without hitting or tripping over armchair. Blackout curtains cannot be used unless net curtains are removed to windows. Position of bed meant that only one side of bed had a side table as door to wardrobe could not be accessed if there was a side table on both sides of bed. However, person sleeping on that side of the bed had no space for glasses etc. and there is no reading light. Appeared there may have been some form of light at high level on bed headrest previously, but this has been removed. AC controls behind bed side lamp. Bathroom very large but no bath gel, and only realised as entering shower. Car park charges of $39.00 a rip-off. Suggest you just go one block where there is more than adequate overnight parking for a maximum of $25.00. General impression of Hotel Indigo throughout Europe/USA is that design has been paramount, but actual layout of room and position of facilities in room have not been thought out. July 15, 2013
