Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Indigo = Romantic Weekend Even thought the room was relatively small it was sufficient, and even romantic. Loved the patio and the Blue Tavern restaurant was fantastic. We can't wait to go back. Only negative is less than private frosted glass bathroom door but not a problem when you have been married 26 years. December 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location in Santa Barbara We arrived very late on a rainy night. The front desk personnel were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The one negative about our arrival is the fact that there is no elevator and the lift for luggage was out of order. Fortunately we only had carry on size luggage. The room we reserved was small but we are not big people so it was fine for us. We liked the modern and clean feel to it. The location is very convenient to one of the piers and the beach as well as the Funk Zone - an area with galleries, restaurants, etc. We were also within walkig distance of the Santa Barbara Zoo, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also had a very good breakfast at the adjoining restaurant. There is good public transportation for those who do not choose to walk. The hotel happens to be right next to a train station but the trains evidently do not run in the middle of the night so we were not bothered by any noise. We would definitely stay here again., December 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Odd layout, great staff Nice that they allow pets, a very nice feature is that if you check in with a dog they give you a bag of treats/toy for the dog. Staff was wonderful. The layout of the hotel is odd because it is an old converted Hostel ("European Style"). December 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by cute hotel, but no thanks When we were shown our room we almost fell over laughing! The king sized bed took the entire room, we had to crawl against the walls to get around. The closet was the size of a small trunk and the bathroom was microscopic! Then there is the amtrak train tracks (therefore the trains) a few yards away. It starts service at 6:45 am and doesn't stop until late. Because the trains are going through an urban area, they have to use their blaring horns constantly... Finally, sound insulation is nonexistent. Thus one can hear neighbors above and on either side of one's room. If you are looking for a peaceful stay, choose another hotel. December 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Updated and Friendly Looking for a hotel in Santa Barbara that allowed dogs. This hotel was clean, friendly and accommodating. The room was a bit too small but had everything needed. The security access was nice. It was great having the dog treats out for pets to enjoy. There was also a wine mixer that we didn't participate in due to other plans but would have if available. Would definitely choose this hotel in the future over many of the others in Santa Barbara. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice in Santa Barbara Aside from the noise from the train and smaller, "euro" style rooms.... the stay was great! The value wasn't really there but for this caliber of hotel, it was totally worth the expense for the location. Centrally located around everything and right next to the train station (a plus and minus). November 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by interesting design, great location, great food We were very pleased with the location near the beach and downtown Santa Barbara. The design was clean, refreshing, and interesting. The rooms, while not spacious, are laid out efficiently with carefully designed spaces. The Peruvian themed restaurant is excellent.
